The submitted master's thesis deals with the topic of creating a group identity of Prague Jewish communities based on the fact how these Jewish communities perceive Czech Jewish history and their role in it. The key concept of this work is Hayden White's Narrative Theory and also authors dealing with memory, as Maurice Halbwachs, Pierre Nora or Jan Assmann. The main sources of this work are numerous articles following up historical topics, published in four magazines issued by Jewish communities (Roš Chodeš, Obecní noviny, Maskil, Židovské listy). The sources have been touched by analysis of half structured interviews with representatives of the communities. The aim of the work is to discover if the narrative form of Czech Jewish history is influenced by the fact, that the given community considers itself reform or orthodox, or if we should include any other factors. One of the factors may be politics of identities and internal conflicts. The thesis asks if the conflict that takes place within the Prague Jewish Community can be felt on the way of perception and narration of the Czech Jewish history. The present M. A. theses COUNT FRANZ ANTON SPORCK - SUPPORTER OF JANSENISM THOUGHTS AND RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE deals with Baroque period, the so called "Bohemian Baroque" in the 17th - 18th century, and ends at the beginning of the Enlightenment. On the main representatives of the Czech lands was Count Franz Anton Sporck. The first chapter looks at the emergence of the movement of Jansenism, founded by Cornelius Otto Jansen, and mentions the root movement within the environment of the University of Leuven. Cornelius Otto Jansen influenced French Jansenism which had been led by Jean-Antoine Duvergier de Hauranne (First Abbe de Saint-Cyran) at the monastery of Port-Royal des Champs, and a major French personality of the movement. The other major figures were Martin de Barcos, Antoine Arnauld, Blaise Pascal and Pasquier Quesnel, who were influenced by the Jansenism environment in the Czech lands. At the same time, the first chapter focuses on the Jesuit Order, which acts as a counterpoint to the same idea of Catholic reform during the time of post Trident. The work attempts to analyze manifestations and the possible impact of Nazi propaganda in two stages of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. As to daily press the children's annex of Národní politika (National Politics -the most widely read periodical) and Lidové noviny (People's Press - a prestigious and independent newspaper close to the Castle during 1st Republic) have been analyzed. As to periodicals published during the first phase of the protectorate (until the arrest of Prime Minister Alois Eliáš in September 1941) the magazine Mladý hlasatel (Young Announcer) and Dětská neděle (Children's Sunday Magazine) which began to be published in 1935 were chosen and analyzed. The second phase of the protectorate was tightly associated with the establishment and existence of the Curatorium for Education of Bohemian and Moravian Youth and therefore its periodicals Zteč (Charge), Správný kluk (Good Boy) and Dívčí svět (Girl's world) were analyzed together with Knihovna pro mládež (Youth Library) issued by the Curatorium later. The introductory chapter of this Thesis describes the development of choir music in Bohemia, starting with unison singing, through polyphonic singing, proceeding to forming of literary societies, and, finally, the form of choir singing as we know it today. In the theoretical part, we use the most important historic and social moments of the Prague Hlahol Choir to illustrate almost 155 years of its existence. The following chapter reflects the most significant concerts, introduces the choir's repertoire and how it changed through times, mentions premieres of choir masterpieces, cooperation with other significant choirs and prominent musicians. In the practical part, we reprint the interviews with long-time choir members and personal experience of some of the artists who have cooperated with the Prague Hlahol Choir. To complete this Thesis, we used anniversary almanacs, annual reports, historic documents and photographs, etc. We also included personal views of the choir members, choir leaders and the prominent musicians who have cooperated with the choir. The present thesis focuses on both the actual and the posthumous life of the late 15th c. esquire Dalibor of Kozojedy, beheaded in 1498 by verdict of the Superior Land Court of the Kingdom of Bohemia for capital felony of hostile takeover of a manor house of Ploskovice in the Litoměřice region, including the pertaining peasantry. The text analyses the motives leading to the act and extracts diplomatical, narrative, and literary sources in order to portray the evolution of the tale of Dalibor in the course of 16th through 19th century. The 'áfterlife' of the myth is rooted in the period of Czech National Revival and literary Romanticism, which foreshadows the gradual reshaping process of the then Bohemian mythological heritage as commonly shared by the Czechs and Germans into an instument promoting the Czech national historical tradition, used for defending the Czech culture's milieu against the German one. The thesis explores the aforementioned process as a background for textual instances of the mythical Dalibor's engagement in both society and literature.

The thesis will focus on the first exhibitions of the industrial goods in Bohemia between the years 1754 and 1836. In every one of the chronologically sorted chapters, including each exhibition, it will focus on themes such as the changeover between manufactures and the industrial production, the role of craftsmen, the role of the emperor and aristocracy supporting the Czech industry, the foundation of Unity for the development of the Bohemian industry. The thesis is also focused on finding the subjects, which were displayed on the first exhibitions.

The Commission for making the river Vltava and the river Labe in Bohemia navigable was founded in 1896 on the basis of a decree of the ministry of interior as the first water management office to be systematically engaged in making Czech rivers navigable by the canalization method. The Commission was headed by the vice-regent of the Kingdom of Bohemia to whom the members of state's and country's curia were subordinate. The executive section was represented by the central office, composed of the technical and administrative departments. Its activities were financed by two thirds by the Austrian state, one third was paid from the Czech country's treasury. After the establishment of the independent Czechoslovak republic, both curias were dissolved and the Commission was put under the control of the ministry of public works. The president of the country's political administration was appointed as the head of the Commission. This dimploma thesis deals with the contemporary context of the social and cultural relations in Bohemia in the second half of 19th century and at the begining of 20th century. The thesis highlights essential personalities of those times as they were seen through the prism of musical life within the boundaries of leading musical institutions of those times. Furhtermore the thesis refers to relations of these giants with Josef Suk and focuses on Suk's piano compositions in detail within the context of his complete works.

The topic of the thesis is biogas stations - renewable energy sources. This thesis focuses on energy from biomass which is generated inside stations, and on appropriate use of energy. It deals with thermal energy that is produced as a waste product inside the biogas stations. The main objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of the biogas stations as a source of heat for the municipalities in southern Bohemian and create evaluation criteria of suitability of using heat from biogas stations in specific communities.

The main subject of the thesis are the beginnings of the studio founded by J. V. Myslbek at the Academy of Arts in Prague in 1896. Firstly, the personality of J. V. Myslbek and his evolution as an artist since the early sixties of the 19th century are being discussed. This part covers Myslbek's trip to Paris in 1878 and his friendship with Vojtech Hynais, which helped him gain a deeper understanding of the contemporary French sculpture and which was vital to the stylistic formation of his sculpture "Music" (created between 1891 and 1907, during Myslbek's presence at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design and at the Academy of Arts). Myslbek's first students at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design were influenced by his lyrical conception; the generation of Maratka's classmates have followed their teacher to the newly established Academy of Arts. Around 1900 sharp controversies between the teacher and his students have arised - these in retrograde seem to be essential for their future success.
