Subsequently, it captures the history of Czechoslovakian and Czech tabloids from the First Republic until the present day. This thesis also deals with the journals that unsuccessfully tried to compete with the journal Blesk. Nowadays, the only remaining tabloid journal is Aha!, nevertheless it is owned by the same publishing company as the journal Blesk. Further, the thesis pays attention to the main personalities who helped to shape the form of the journal. It inquires into the development of the graphical shape of the front pages and it tries to interpret their symbolical message, both by the means of qualitative analyses. Alongside that, it deals with the editors and their influence on the development of the journal, its visual form, and the choice of topics on the front pages. The journal Blesk also includes advertisements, and this thesis focuses on that too.

Proměny vybraných etických aspektů žurnalistiky s nástupem umělé inteligence / Transformations of chosen ethical issues in jourrnalism in the rise of artificial intelligence

Kunc, Kryštof January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis aims to describe the transformations in selected ethical aspects of journalism with the advent of artificial intelligence, i.e. in other words to present a list of areas where ethical problems can occur in journalism when media organisations begin to apply artificial intelligence systems. It does so with the help of a synthesis of information from foreign studies that are already dealing with this issue. At the same time, however, it also offers the results of semi-structured interviews with three Czech experts in artificial intelligence, which list other possible changes in ethical aspects in journalism using artificial intelligence. Through synthesis and interviews, we answer questions about which aspects they are and how they change, and the results show that the range of things that will need to be paid attention to when involving artificial intelligence in journalism is varied. Some problems are based on existing ones, some are completely new and unprecedented. The results outline a theoretical framework that can serve as a basis for research into various case studies of this issue.

Svoboda, Martin January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to compare the use of journalists as characters in Czech and US audiovisual industry, primarily cinema. As expected, the work finds that Czech cinema cannot compare with American in volume. Also, different history has led to a completely different position of journalists in culture and popular culture in both regions. The thesis tries to introduce both systems and look for reasons of absence of journalistic characters in Czech cinema. It also examines the way in which cinema is able to communicate at all and what demands can we have on the dialogue between piece of art and us. The thesis deals with the transformation of journalistic profession into genre and archetype in American mainstream cinema. The ambition of the work, which in many respects compares the present with the absence, is to describe the space in which the observed presence and absence take place. The main difficulty in elaborating the topic is the marginal size of the Czech market compared to the American and even more marginal use of the journalist as a prominent figure in it. Therefore, the thesis tries to explain why the situation with the help of professional literature rather than mapping the explicit presence of journalism in narratives of Czech and Czechoslovak films. Since Czech cinema has in many...
