This diploma thesis focuses on the topic of quality of life in Uherské Hradiště and its evaluation. The work is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, the author dis-cusses the theoretical bases of quality of life, the historical development of the issue of quality of life, basic dimensions, indicators and tools for measuring quality of life, quality of life in simplicity, and its meaning, as well as the per-spectives of research and quality of life issues associated with him. In the practical part first there are characteristics and description of the current state of the monitored area, and then it is done alone evaluation of the quality of life in the community, based on the evaluation the questionnaire, and proposes some measures for its improvement.

The objective of this diploma thesis is to "Assess the quality of life and public services in Bučovice". The theoretical part is based on general information about the term "quality of life" and its assessment. The practical part focuses on respondent's satisfaction with living in the town. On the basis of the survey, practical recommendations that should help to improve the quality of life in Bučovice were defined for the town council.

This thesis deals with the assessment of individual quality of life from the perspective of citizens living in Slavkov u Brna. The theoretical part is based on the available literature defined quality of life, its dimension, theoretical models, approaches and factors influencing subjective quality of life. In the practical part we used quantitative survey method of questioning. Based on the survey results, the factors that most influence the overall life satisfaction of citizens living in Slavkov u Brna were determined. These factors include education, age, marital status, sex, health, job satisfaction and satisfaction with life partner. Survey results showed that citizens with primary education, citizens over 65 years of age, women and divorced citizens are less satisfied with their lives. In conclusion, the recommendations to improve the overall life satisfaction of citizens were proposed.

In my work I deal about problems connected with active old age and the depression in the old age. I tried to prove the relation between the incidence of depressions and the following factors: hobbies and activities, religious faith, education and loneliness. The research was carried out by filling in a questionnaire by three different groups of seniors. The target group in general was established by persons in the age category of 60-90 years of age. The three specific sub-groups as mentioned above consist of a/ persons living in retirement homes, b/ members of the club of seniors, c/ accidentally chosen seniors, visiting offices of a general practitioner and of a private gynaecologist in the town of Česká Kamenice. The results of my research, as far as the whole of the target group is concerned, proved the association between the incidence of depressive symptoms and the three chosen factors: hobbies and activities, education, and loneliness. Most evident of all was the association between being lonely and the incidence of depression, then between the achieved level of education and the incidence of depression. Less expressed was the relation between depression and practised hobbies. The religious faith proved to be a factor without any influence on the incidence of the depression. This thesis has investigative and empirical character. It combines an attempt to create a theoretical system (a new subdiscipline of special pedagogy) with an attempt to gain arguments by means of empirical investigation. It begins with theoretical part which presents historical and pedagogical overview of the issue by defining reference field, target groups, tasks, basic terminology and the whole system of special pedagogy of an early age. An early age care as a theoretical subsystem included in comprehensive and integrative special pedagogy in the system of social and rehabilitation, and special pedagogical services forms a specific part of my thesis. The theoretical part has a character of metatheory because at an early age the beginnings of education, care and support are given according to the theory of comprehensive special pedagogy (Jesenský 2000) or integrative special pedagogy (Vítková 2003). By this the possibility of application into the pedagogy of individual physical and mental handicaps and the possibility of education development in other age groups are open. Diploma thesis analyzes the quality of life in Tišnov and possibilities for future development of the city. In theoretical part is defined the basic concepts, a brief history of the issue, measurement methods and basic indicators of quality of life. It also describes the quality of life in the context of regional development and small town. The practical part of the work contains characteristic of surveyed city, the SWOT analysis and questionnaire survey dealing with quality of life and opportunities for further development of Tišnov city. The results are suggested recommendations for the development and improvement of the city.
