- "Det är så lätt att barnet försvinner i allt virrvarr..." : Socialsekreterares resonemang kring återföreningsprincipen i arbetet med familjehemsplaceringar

Mineur, Stina, Westergaard, Malin January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this essay was to study social workers’ reasoning regarding the principle of reunification in foster care cases. In two focus group interviews, factors hindering or promoting reunification were discussed, as well as the social worker’s perceptions regarding their own role in the work with foster care cases.  The biological parents’ willingness and ability to receive and utilize offered support and treatment (eg. addiction treatment), continuous contact with their children, and well functioning foster homes emerged as central promoting factors. The strength of the child's existing attachment to the foster parents, and the level of uncooperativeness between foster families and biological parents appeared as most hindering. The social workers' discussions about their own role, highlighted the complexity of handling both private and professional networks in foster care. The results were analysed from both attachment theory and ecological systems theory perspectives, which highlighted the crucial importance of attachment between children and foster parents. Furthermore, the complex adaptive system in foster care work both in which social workers are participatory and by which they are affected.

Hederskultur : Det sociala arbetet mot hedervåld och hedersrelaterat förtryck / Honour culture : Social Work Against Honour Violence and Oppression

Carlin, Rasmus January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this literature study was to examine honour-related violence in Sweden along with the underlying reasons behind and mechanisms that fuel the presence of honourculture in a western society aswell as what has been reported about the efforts of social work regarding to honor-related violence. The study observes the conditions of the lives of the victims and perpetrators of honour-culture in an effort to gain full appreciation of the situation these people live in and the struggles they may face in conducting daily life. Political aswell as societal factors are also contemplated due to the controversial nature of the phenomenon in the western hemisphere. The main purpose of the study was to examine the honour-culture- related conditions in Sweden but to fully grasp the situation, an international perspective has been examined. To conduct this study the author reviewed previously existing research on honour culture and honour-related violence and social work in this field and synthesized the results from a social constructivistic viewpoint. This poses a problem for social workers who find difficulties in navigating through undefined guidelines and legal framework which tends to lead to poorly implemented and arbitrary interventions which in certain cases may lead to additional dismay for the clients.

Climate Change and Internal Displacement

Troh, Christian January 2021 (has links)
AbstractThere is a major relationship between these two aspects: climate change and IPDs (Internal Displacement Persons) – as climate change is a major challenge for people who faced displacement and leave their shelters – which makes their living conditions worst and it leads result in diminishing the wellbeing of people (Ferris, 2011). Moreover, it has been observed that the researcher has successfully contributed in accomplishing the research concern and attaining the effective results – while involving the role of international Humanitarian Law which is used to protect the needs of climate refugees/people displaced because of climate change – also, the UN Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement can be relevant for meeting the protection needs of people who have been displaced because of climate change. Moreover, the researcher has used critical discussion through effective and factful arguments in the literature review to accomplish the research purpose. Moreover, the investigator involved the analytical and conceptual framework which highly plays a significant role in accomplishing the whole research as it included the concepts and theories which is relevant to the research matter. The researcher included IASC Framework on Durable Solutions for Internal Displaced Persons and the social framework of UNHCR in order to give a proper value to the section. On the other hand, the researcher uses secondary research for collecting data along with thematic/content analysis in order to analyze the research with effective concepts and accurately analyzing the collected information. At last, the research concludes that there are various challenges which the internally displaced people are facing due to the impact of climate change but the researcher included international committees – those are taking actions for resolving the issues of IDPs and refugees such as UNEP, UNIHRC, UNEG, IPCC, and IOM – which significantly contributing for the benefits of IDPs and migrants.
