第一章前言。第二章唐代前期三邊關係之演變，探討唐太宗至唐玄宗期間，三邊關係 之演變過程，以作縱切面之瞭解，同時述及三者內部之初期形勢，作為肅宗以後，三 者相互傾軋的背景分析。第三章肅宗時期之三邊關係，探討李唐安史亂時，其因應政 策，回紇助唐，吐蕃落井下石，回紇與吐蕃之間接關係。 第四章代宗時期之三邊關係，探討代宗在位之時代背景，回紇勢陵李唐，吐蕃猖獗入 侵，以及僕固懷恩叛唐事件對三邊關系之影響。第五章德宗時期之三邊關係，探討李 唐政策之轉變，朱此竊位事件對三邊關係之影響，吐蕃反覆無信，李唐聯回抗蕃政策 之確定，吐蕃四面受敵及回紇勢力衰頹。第六章結論。
