本文集乙冊，約十二萬言，分六章二十三節，茲扼要說明各章節之內容： 第一章 首先揭示理論概念之建構，及研究範圍與動機之澄清，於第一節論研究動機 與範圍；第二節界定機關組織的意義；第三節概論組織結構的要義；第四節闡明組織 分化之意義。 第二章 為理論基礎的闡論，第一節述層級化之廣義、狹義及引申的意義；第二節敘 述層級化的原因；第三節分論層級化之原則；第四節則著眼於層級化概念的演變。 第三章 是論文的重心，討論層級化與管理效能的關係，於五節中，分論層級化與管 理幅度，與授權、與分權、與溝通、與領導的關係。 第四章 討論層級化與組織的關係，第一節中析述層級化建立組織中權威體系；第二 節探討層級化與不同的角色扮演；佐證前述理論。 第五章 則輔以兩個實例，佐證前述理論。 第六章 為結論，第一節中分析層級化的正、反功能；第二節則敘述層級化的昔、今 ，以至於未來的可能演進趨勢；第三節，以一般結語作為結束。
