Silage is fermented forage plants. It is a succulent and nutritious feed, which can be used especially when green forage is not available. The methods by which it is made were first developed from a nineteenth century German process for making sour hay. / Master of Science

Sprays of 2,4,5-TP and combination sprays of 2,4,5-TP and MH-40 V were found to effectively reduce the preharvest drop of Starking, Winesap and Stayman apples. An application of 2,4,5-TA was effective . V on the Starking and Stayman, but not as effective on the Winesap. None of the hormones gave a significant reduction in drop on the Golden Delicious. / Master of Science

The controlled harvest experiment which was begun in December,1947 and continued through November, 1951, showed that conservative shooting merely utilities a portion of the quail population which would normally be lost to other decimating factors, Apparently, a controlled harvest does not ultimately affect the general trend of the population curve, These studies also indicate that the later the harvest is carried out in the fall, the smaller will be the removable surplus. / Master of Science
