Interessou-se explorar a motivação, privilegiando-se explorar o conjunto de bases teóricas que respaldaram e nortearam a análise crítica das informações que foram coletadas gradativamente, através da experiência e experimentação, à medida em que foi se percebendo como a motivação é definida no interior das organizações. Os capítulos apresentados referem se ao entendimento das diferenças comportamentais entre os indivíduos de uma organização; clarifica o conceito e a importância da motivação a partir de sua definição e objetivos; ressalta os modelos de motivação mais utilizados por estas; exemplifica as técnicas de motivação e traz à tona as principais armadilhas ligadas à essas técnicas; analisa as modificações motivacionais ocorridas ao longo dos tempos na IBM - Intemational Business Machines e na UTP - Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná. A conclusão permitiu entender o grau de incerteza na compreensão por parte das Organizações sobre o assunto Motivação Humana, e como a abordagem do assunto é inadequada devido à esta falha. Permitiu também, não considerando se o modelo motivacional da organização está correto ou não, verificar que qualquer que seja o modelo, este só pode realmente permear toda a organização se for definida, implementada e policiada pelo seu dirigente máximo, utilizando e defendendo os princípios organizacionais. / Abstract: The development of this study refers to the human behavior according to its relation to the element "work" since the strongest convictions about Human Motivation were first considered in the Organizational contexto The basic interest was to explore the subject motivation with emphasis to the set of theories which supported and guided the critical analysis of the gathered information throghout personal experience and probbing after the perception of how "motivation" is perceived by the organizations. The following chapters address the understanding of different individual behaviors inside an organization, clarify the concept of motivation and its refevance according to its definition and objectives, bring up the most considered models by the organizations, show up the traps implied in the motivation techniques used by organization and its personnel, evaluates the motivational approach modification along time which occured inside IBM - lntemational Business Machines and UTP - Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná. The conclusion of this study reveals the lack of compreension, by the Organizatlons, on the subject Human Motivation, and how inadequate is the approach due to this fail of compreension. Also, not considering if the motivational model adopted by the organizations is correct or not, the conclusion shows that the model can be deployed only, and while, it is defined, implemented and enforced by the Chairman, using and defending the organization principles. / Mestrado / Mestre em Qualidade

M.Litt. et Phil. (Afrikaans-Nederlands) / Most stories are presented in the text through the mediation of some 'angle of vision' or a specific perspective. Not only is the story told from a certain 'point of view' as far as the narrator is concerned, but it is often presented in such a way that different 'perspectives' concerning certain matters are clearly voiced by character and statement. As far as the drama as genre is concerned, perspective can be described as the narrator's angle of vision, the way that certain aspects of life are seen in their relation to each other as well as the varying attitudes towards these aspects of life. The aim of this scription is to discuss perspective and its place in the drama introductory and then to concentrate on the way in which it is manifested in a few dramas from N P van Wyk Louw of which the most important will be Die pluimsaad waai ver, staged in 1966 in commemoration of South Africa becoming a republic in 1961.

M.A. (Afrikaans) / The particular manner in which N.P. van Wyk Louw makes use of the adjective in his work RAKA, soon becomes evident to the reader. The grammatical approach taken in this study endeavours to emphasise the manner in which, and the frequency with which the adjective is applied as well as its functional relationship within the structure of the text. Lexical relationships involving the adjective in this specificwork serve as a basis upon which this study has been formulated. Initially" adjectives in the mentioned work have been identified from a theoretical point of view. Further more the nature" of the syntagmatic and paradigmatic relationships are examined against the background of their potential to function as lexical cohesive elements within the specific textual context. Particular attention is given to the colour adjective owing to the frequency of its use in the work. The study reveals the important role of the colour adjective in the text: Areas of different semantic representation are drawn together, important structural elements of character, time and place are identified while the importance of changing character perspectives are manifested by the functioning of this type of adjective. Adjectives other than colour adjectives are subjected to analysis in terms of syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations established in the text. This study emphasises the significance of the cohesive role played by the adjective in the macrostructure of the text. Lastly, it can be concluded that while this study has concentrated on grammatical research, students of literature will benefit from a literary study of the adjective in RAKA.

Memoria (licenciado en ciencias jurídicas y sociales) / El presente trabajo entrega en primer lugar antecedentes históricos y filosóficos sobre el dominio público del derecho de autor, para luego entregar un esquema para su análisis, formulando por último conclusiones respecto de distintas aristas del referido régimen de propiedad.

The dominant theme in Regain is that of death leading to rebirth. This dissertation attempts to explore Giono's narrative techniques within this context. No single chapter will be devoted to a specific technique; instead, the various devices used by the author are discussed as they emerge from the structure of the chapters. Justifying the field of study as defined in the "Introduction", the following three chapters outline the passage of life from death to eventual rebirth. With acknowledgement to Frank Kermode, who writes: "A concord of past, present and future three dreams which, as Augustine said, cross in our minds, as in the present of things past, the present of things present, and the present of things future" ¹, the first three chapters bear his terminology for their headings. Chapter One, "The Present of Things Past", deals with Mameche's loss of her husband and son. Chapter Two, "The Present of Things Present", focuses upon Mameche' s realization of Gaubert's departure, and the decision that she must do something to save the dying village of Aubignane. Chapter Three, "The Present of Things Future", sees Mameche setting out in search of a wife for Panturle, and succeeding. This brings to an end Part One of the novel. Interwoven throughout the chapters are paradigms from Greek mythology, rich in universal symbolism, and the author's belief in man's ability to fuse himself with his surroundings. The conclusion summarizes the findings of this study, attempting to show how an analysis of Giono's narrative technique provides an insight into such a novel as Regain. ¹The Sense of an Ending (London: Oxford University Press, 1966), rpt., 1970, p. 50.

Memoria (licenciado en ciencias jurídicas y sociales) / activamente en el gobierno de Allende, ya sea como Ministros de Gobierno, o como altos dirigentes de los partidos integrantes de la Unidad Popular. En particular, resulta de interés para el autor mostrar la divergencia de enfoques, opiniones y posturas políticas registradas al interior del gobierno de Allende, la manera en que estas interactuaron en un plano de poder, y como a partir de estas diferentes concepciones políticas los propios actores desarrollan críticas, análisis y conclusiones, que en algunos casos, resultan totalmente disímiles respecto de cuáles fueron las principales falencias y virtudes del susodicho gobierno. Para alcanzar este propósito, el autor expone y analiza las memorias críticas de algunos de los mayores protagonistas de la Unidad Popular, a partir de ellas se desarrolla un correlato histórico que es impulsado por los puntos de encuentro y disidencia entre los memoristas. El referido trabajo trata los acontecimientos más importantes y discutidos del gobierno de Allende, el cual comienza el 4 de noviembre de 1970, y termina abruptamente el 11 de septiembre de 1973. Las opiniones vertidas por los diferentes actores del gobierno socialista son complementadas, ocasionalmente, con la de historiadores chilenos, esto con el único fin de delimitar el contexto histórico en que se da el intercambio de ideas. Cabe adelantar, que este trabajo representa un ejercicio eminentemente subjetivo, el cual es la exposición del análisis autocrítico de un grupo político determinado, y por tanto no pretende revestir necesariamente caracteres de verdad-histórica. M.A. (Afrikaans) / In this epic poem, Raka, N.P. van Wyk Louw made abundant use of prepositions. A linguistic analysis of these preposition structures explains and reveals the nature of this syntactic category in Afrikaans. From this it is evident that prepositions are vital in accomplishing cohesion in the text. Cognitive linguistics argue that syntactic organisation and semantics cannot stand independently from each other. Therefore the meaning of 'n phrase of expression cannot be reduced to an objective categorization of the situation that is being described. Against this background it is evident that structures conveying meaning are expressed through prepositions and prepositional structures. Certain semantic values and meaning structures of prepositions in RAKA are dealt with to help clarify some implied cognitive dimensions. A closer analysis shows that the preposition structures in RAKA represent intricate syntactic patterns. The semantic values of prepositions in RAKA are categorized through image schemas in terms of space Qncluding place, perspective and proximity), time, movement, part-whole, reason and cause, as well as manner and means. Finally it is indicated how the epic structures can be made more explicable by image schemas. Through the use of prepositions in the language, aspects of the epic, namely characterization, time and spatial placing are endorsed. Progression, in terms or epic movement is supported through the use of prepositions that specifically imply space and movement. It is therefore apparent that although the research was approached from a linguistic angle, it also contributes to literary analysis.

This study measures and compares the editorial reactions of ten Canadian metropolitan dailies to the FLQ kidnap crisis of 1970, and the specific, important events which occurred within the crisis. Besides comparing the editorial reactions of individual papers, the newspapers are also grouped by language (French and English) and by geographical location, to determine the effect of these two characteristics upon those reactions. The thesis is divided into four chapters, as follows: Methodology, an account of the crisis, the newspapers, and finally the presentation and analysis of the findings. The research method used is content analysis. Five categories are devised, into which are classified the editorial content of the newspapers analyzed. A frequency count method is used, with the theme as recording unit and the paragraph as context unit. Chapter two centers about a short account of the crisis and the selection of important events within the crisis which could be expected to have had some influence upon the editorial reactions of the papers. Chapter three consists of the selection of newspapers to be analyzed, of newspaper characteristics (language and location) which one might expect to have an effect upon editorial reactions, and finally of deferring editorial content for the purpose of this study. The presentation and analysis of findings (Chapter four) is subdivided into two parts-editorial reactions to the entire crisis and editorial reactions to important events within the crisis. It was found that the single greatest determinant of how a newspaper reacted editorially to the crisis was geographic allocation. The papers from Ontario and Quebec put considerable emphasis upon the dangers of excessive reaction by the authorities and upon the need for social reform as a solution to the crisis, whereas the papers from other regions were generally more concerned with the need for law and order. The French papers devoted more editorial space to the crisis than did the English papers but the nature of their reaction was generally similar to that of the English papers of Ontario and Quebec. The French papers greatly increased their editorial content about the crisis after the abduction of Pierre Laporte - the English papers only after the proclamation of the War Measures Act. Before the War Measures Act was proclaimed, all English papers had put a strong emphasis upon the need for law and order. After the proclamation, the English papers of Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa de-emphasized that issue. Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades / Informe de Seminario para optar al grado de Licenciada en Lengua y Literatura Hispánica / La presente investigación busca hacer una lectura de la novela En voz baja, tomando en cuenta, en primer lugar, su innegable relación con la literatura producida durante y después del período dictatorial en Chile, en tanto la narración se instala en los tiempos de la Dictadura y, más importante aún, el fundamento de toda la narración de Amanda -protagonista de En voz baja-, es la detención y posterior exilio del padre. En segundo lugar, tomaremos en cuenta que la novela nos presenta en primer plano el proceso de autodestrucción de Amanda como marco para la búsqueda obsesiva de su padre, en tanto su relación con la comida, su cuerpo y su sexualidad se torna enfermiza, lo que se nos muestra en las acciones que narra así como en la forma de dicho relato.
