The novels feature fragile and silenced women. Our restlessness about this Literature led us to choose the character Maria do Carmo, from Adolfo Caminha's book The Normalist. The girl-woman, adolescent and abused by the godfather, while representing the western woman, lives under physical, psychological and social violence in the society of Ceará. Man's subordination practices have been successful in many times and have helped to massacre women accused of witchcraft and / or pact with the devil. A certain gynephobia spread and managed to maim the lives of thousands of women. Virginity for this analytical study is also presented as a symbolic role, which continues to serve as a profitable object for many generations, integrated to the economic and social bases, in a systematized ideology that instills in men a feeling of unconditional sexual appetite, creating in man a feeling of power over the body of the girl and the family with which she relates. In this context, the boy, from childhood, educated to be strong, to be smart, to be agile, immersed in a circle of superiority, acquires a scathing thought capable of forging an overly patriarchal mentality that compromises the future of women - this is the romantic hero, while the girl is the place of submission. Through Literature, we study the girl-woman - with an emphasis on the girl, the virgin, the virginity - to understand who the first kiss of the girls in the phallocentric society is and how it happens for many women to accept their submissive condition. This is a diachronic study with regard to the girl-woman in the Brazilian romances (romanticism, realism and naturalism). / A literatura do século XIX delega às mulheres o lugar de submissão. Os romances apresentam mulheres frágeis e silenciadas. Nossa inquietação sobre essa Literatura nos levou à escolha da personagem Maria do Carmo, do livro A Normalista, de Adolfo Caminha. A menina-mulher, assediada e abusada pelo padrinho, enquanto representação da mulher ocidental, vive sob a violência física, psicológica e social na sociedade cearense. As práticas de dominação do homem obtiveram êxito em muitos séculos e ajudaram a massacrar muitas mulheres acusadas de bruxaria e/ou de pacto com o demônio. Uma certa ginefobia alastrou-se e conseguiu mutilar a vida de milhares de mulheres. A virgindade, para esse estudo analítico, também é apresentada como papel simbólico, que continua a servir como objeto lucrativo para muitas famílias, integrada às bases econômicas e sociais, numa teia ideológica sistematizada que insufla nos homens um sentimento de apetite sexual incondicional, criando no homem um sentimento de poder acerca do corpo da moça e da família com a qual se relaciona. Nesse contexto, o menino, desde a infância, educado para ser forte, ser esperto, ser ágil, imerso num círculo de superioridade, adquire um pensamento mordaz capaz de forjar uma mentalidade demasiadamente patriarcal que compromete o futuro das mulheres – esse é o herói romântico; enquanto cabe à menina o lugar de submissão. Por meio da Literatura, estudamos sobre a menina-mulher – com ênfase na moça, na virgem, na virgindade – para entender de quem é o primeiro beijo das moças na sociedade falocêntrica e como isso ocorre para que muitas mulheres aceitem a sua condição submissa. Este é um estudo diacrônico no que diz respeito à menina-mulher nos romances brasileiros (romantismo, realismo e naturalismo).
