The corpus is composed by the books Contos e lapida??es (1891) and Lutas do cora??o ([1898] 1999). The text discusses the author s process of identity construction, recognizing her as an ex-eccentric from the XIX century. The main purpose of this study is the analysis of the rhetoric s resources that cooperate to lead Sabino s prose to a more refined literary level, as the narrator, the implicit author, the use of metatextualities, metafictions and dialogues with the reader. She also uses elements that categorize her production as an example of woman s Bildungsroman (PINTO, 1990). The analysis ratifies the formulated hypothesis, revealing, in the narrative construction, how the author breaks with the model of masculine romance from that age and initiates a reflection about the autonomy of woman s character in her society, what is called the women s Bildungsroman. / Este trabalho incursiona pela prosa de In?s Sabino, numa dupla perspectiva, liter?ria e de g?nero. O corpus consta dos volumes Contos e lapida??es (1891) e Lutas do cora??o ([1898] 1999). O texto discute o processo de tessitura identit?ria da autora, reconhecendo-a como uma ex-c?ntrica do s?culo XIX. A preocupa??o central deste estudo ? a an?lise dos recursos ret?ricos que cooperam para o avan?o da prosa sabiniana a um patamar liter?rio mais refinado, tais como a figura do narrador, o autor impl?cito, o uso de metatextualidades, de metafic??es e da conversa com o leitor, al?m de elementos que permitem arrolar sua produ??o como um exemplo do Bildungsroman feminino (PINTO, 1990). A an?lise ratifica a hip?tese formulada, revelando, na tessitura narrativa, os mecanismos pelos quais a autora, mantendo-se aparentemente fiel ao modelo de romance masculino da ?poca, rompe, contudo, com o mesmo, abrindo espa?os para a reflex?o a respeito da autonomia da personagem feminina em sua sociedade, o que caracteriza o Bildungsroman feminino.
