Vyhodnocení úrovně reprodukce skotu a růstové intenzity telat v zemědělském podniku zaměřeném na chov masného skotu

Schild, Marek January 2017 (has links)
The Master´s thesis is focused on the rate of reproduction and growth intensity of calves Aberdeen Angus breed. In the research was monitored the offspring in organic farming located in the Zlín region during the period from 2007 to 2016. Data were obtained from the performance testing of beef cattle and from the register of the farm. There was achieved following values in the reproduction: pregnancy rate after the first insemination 62.5 % in heifers and 60 % in cows, service time 80.7 days, meantime 365.5 days, crude natality 107%, pure natality 102%, live reared calves 93%. It is obvious from these results that the rate of reproduction of this breed is very good. With the growth intensity of calves there was monitored the influence of sire, year and sex on the weight, gains and hip height of offspring. Influence of sire on birth weight, weight at 120, 210 and 365 days of age, gains and height of offspring achieved often highly significant (p < 0.01) differences. Statistically important (p < 0.05) differences in weights of calves due to influence of year were recorded at birth day and at 120 days of age calves, while at 365 days of age calves were revealed significant (p < 0.01) differences in weights and gains between years. In case of the influence of sex between bulls and heifers were revealed highly significant (p < 0.01) differences confirmed generally known principle that the males have a higher birth weight and have a higher growth ability than females.

Sediment Budget Template Applied To Aberdeen Pool

Sharp, Jeremy A 15 December 2007 (has links)
The purpose of this work is to create a sediment budget template (SBT) with Aberdeen Pool on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway as the demonstration site. The first task is to define the sediment behavior for the system in question. USGS data are used for sediment concentrations and flows. The USGS data are the basis for the Power Curve Program which defines the sediment behavior in terms of a power function. The second program, Tier 1 Program, uses the power curve coefficients along with the bankfull discharge to define the sediment fluxes. Thirdly, the Tier 2 Program uses power curve coefficients with daily flows to calculate daily sediment flux which are integrated over each year to calculate the yearly fluxes. From the sediment fluxes, a mass balance equation is implemented to estimate total deposition. Lastly, the computer program SIAM is used to estimate deposition amount. Comparison among the three different methods provides a best estimate of the final depositional approximation.

Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire & Jacobitism in the North-East of Scotland, 1688-1750

German, Kieran January 2010 (has links)
In the Jacobite period, the north-east was a geographically and culturally distinct region of Lowland Scotland. It had a well-functioning economy, two universities and a strong Episcopalian heritage. It had the means to raise men and money for the Jacobite cause and was significantly involved in the risings of 1715 and 1745. It was a major Jacobite centre. In a historiographic context traditionally concerned with Highland militarism and the politics of the Stuart courts of St. Germain and Rome, an analysis of Lowland Jacobitism provides an excellent case-study of the development of Jacobitism in Scotland from 1688-1750. This thesis focuses on locally-produced research material, chiefly: burgh council records; records produced by provisional Jacobite administrations; church records; and correspondence of churchmen, laymen, merchants and elites. This has been augmented by research of statepapers and government correspondence, contemporary pamphlets and literature. Jacobitism had multiple, sometimes conflicting, stimuli. The Jacobite individual was often dichotomous, where the demands of Jacobite principle and intent had to run in tandem with prospering within an established community in post-Revolution Britain. The Jacobite experience was by no means straight-forward. The dynamic between Jacobitism, Scots Episcopalianism and regional life (including politics, mercantilism, education and culture) is a central concern of this thesis. This thesis describes and analyses the development of Jacobitism and Scots Episcopacy in the north-east of Scotland, with particular emphasis on the towns of Aberdeen. It assesses the contribution the region made to intellectual, cultural and martial Jacobitism. It re-evaluates the scale and role of Jacobitism in the north-east and, in turn, the development of the Jacobite cause over the course of six decades.
