Paredes Castro, Jacqueline Denisse Stephanie 05 March 2019 (has links)
The main objective of this study was to find psychometric properties of the Attitudes towards Sexuality Questionnaire (CASV, in Spanish) in two samples of elderly Lima residents. A first study was conducted in 2016 and a second study in 2017 with the purpose of comparing the factorial structure of CASV between two different samples of older adults in Lima. In the first study, 105 elders participated from the Elderly’s Center of Rimac district, with ages between 60 to 90 years (M = 73.69). In the second study, 167 elders participated from the Elderly’s Center of Independencia, Pueblo Libre and Miraflores districts, with ages between 60 and 89 years (M = 70.59). The results demonstrated adequate psychometric properties of the instrument adapted with the two samples in Lima, both evidence of validity and reliability. Specifically, it was found that there were differences between the multifactor models of the studies. This was due to the characteristics that the participants of each investigation had. It should be noted that differences were found in comparison with the factorial models found in Mexico and Colombia. Finally, significant differences were found in attitudes towards sexuality in elderly according to talks about sex education, couple and educational level.
