January 2007 (has links)
Abstract: The species Prochilodus lineatus have a great commercial importance in the area of the Grande, Pardo and Mogi-Guaçu rivers, having as characteristics the formation of great shoal, able to develop wide migratory displacements. The present work focused to evaluate, by means of the morphometrics characteristics and age, if the curimbatás (P. lineatus) of the different stocks migratories and residents constitute an only population, having interaction among the sub-populations in the piracema period (reproductive migration). To compare the morphometrics values of the analyses, the using the plotting was completely randomized by 4 x 2 factorial scheme, having as factors four stocks (one resident and three migratories) and two genders (male and female) with thirty replicates, considering each fish as an experimental unit.Variation of 80.19% was observed for the first main component and 8.09% of the second main component supplied by the ten morphometrics variable of the resident and migratories stocks. The resident stock corresponded the biggest values for the whole morphometrics variable. There was superposition of individual scores of the same characteristics among the migratories stocks. Significant predominance of males was observed between the resident stocks and migratories I and II. The morphometrics similiarity verified among the migratories stocks, facilitates to suppose to be an only population, with small variations interpopulation. / Orientador: Fausto Foresti / Coorientador: Léa Silvia Sant'Ana / Banca: Eliane Gasparino / Banca: Newton Castagnolli / Mestre
