It is within the scope of the present work the analysis of the Sines Art Center (2001-2005), the school in Vila Nova da Barquinha (2006-2009) and the Monsaraz house (2007-2009) through different perspectives according to the characteristics of each work. The study will be based on four approaches, when it will be discussed how each work was conceived, graphically represented, organized in the space and constructed. It is noted that their works have a conceptual character, with a series of transgressions about the architectural tradition, transforming them into a conductor of time through the hybridization between tradition and contemporary. The equivalences behind the spatial organization, phenomenological questions and the way the projects were thought are given by the search for options on the same theme: emptiness. / A presente pesquisa se ocupará em estudar três obras do atelier de arquitetura Aires Mateus, desenvolvidas aproximadamente no intervalo entre os anos 2000 e 2010, período em que o escritório desenvolveu bases experimentais, que, desde então, tornaram-se o modus operandi de sua produção. Serão estudados os projetos do Centro de Arte Sines – Projeto (1998-2000) | Obra (2001- 2005), da Escola em Vila Nova da Barquinha – Projeto (2006-2009) | Obra (2010- 2011) e a Casa em Monsaraz – Projeto (2007-2009) | Obra (2010-), mediante diversas hipóteses de leitura de acordo com as características de cada obra. Em comum aos três projetos, o estudo se apoiará em quatro vias de aproximação, quando será discutido o modo como cada obra foi concebida, representada graficamente, organizada espacialmente e construída. É notado que seus trabalhos têm caráter conceitual, com uma série de transgressões sobre a tradição arquitetônica, transformando-os num fio condutor do tempo através da hibridação entre a tradição e o contemporâneo. As equivalências por trás da organização espacial, de questões fenomenológicas e da maneira de pensar os projetos se dão pela busca de opções sobre o mesmo tema: o vazio.
