Undersökningens syfte är att kvantifiera legeringsintervallets påverkan på hållfastheten hos två olika aluminiumlegeringar som tillverkas av återvunnet aluminium, EN AB-46000 och en modifierad variant av denna, Modifierad 46000. Examensarbetet har utförts i samarbete med Stena Aluminium (SA) i Älmhult som återvinner aluminium från skrot. Detta har genomförts genom gjutning av provstavar, mekanisk provning samt mikroskopering. Gjutningen gjordes på Tekniska Högskolan i Jönköping (JTH), dragprovningen på Linnéuniversitet (LNU) och mikroskoperingen både på LNU och SA. All data som samlades in analyserades sedan för att kunna sammankoppla legeringssammansättning med hållfasthetsvärden och mikrostruktur.

The master's thesis deals with properties of aluminium alloys prepared by SLM process. The teoretical part of thesis is focused on decribtion of selective laser melting technology, metallurgical defects and mechanical properties of aluminium alloys processed by this technology. The experimental part of this thesis deals with selections of the SLM process parameters suitable for samples preparation in bulk. Tensile testing at room temperature was used for evaluation of basic mechanical properties. Metallographic and fractographic analyses were performed for evaluation of the microstructure and fracture mechanisms. The materials characteristics obtained on SLM samples were compared with the properties of the same materials grade produced by conventional technologies.

Method selective laser melting can produce metal parts by using 3D printing. This diploma thesis deals with the influence of process parameters on the workability of AlSi9Cu3 high-strength aluminum alloy using selective laser melting. The theoretical part deals with relations between process parameters and identifies phenomena occurring during the processing of metals by this technology. It also deals with conventionally manufactured aluminum alloy AlSi9Cu3. In the work, material research is performed from single tracks tests, porosity tests with different process parameters and mechanical testing. Here are showing the trends of porosity change at scanning speed, laser power, individual laser stop distance, bulk energy, and powder quality. The workability of the material can be judged by the degree of relative density achieved. Simultaneously the values of the achieved mechanical properties of the selected process parameters are presented. The data obtained are analyzed and compared with literature.

Diploma thesis deals with optimization of technological process casting a die cast, which is part of vacuum pump. The die cast is made from alloy AlSi9Cu3(Fe) in foundry KOVOLIT, a. s. There is a problem with inner defects at this cast. Solution of this thesis is to suggest suitable actions to minimize of incidence the defects in the cast. According to analysis of the defects in the cast these defects were classified as combination of shrinkages and gas holes. According to analysis causes of the defects are high temperature of die mould and closed air in die mould. As a result suitable actions were suggested – a change of the die mould tempering and a design adjustment of the cast. In case of implementing a new die mould in the manufacture a new gating system was designed. Suitability of the new gating system was assessed according to simulation of filling die cavity.

The swatches of alloy AISi9Cu3 were taken from the engine block made by Škoda Auto Company, Mladá Boleslav. To the evaluation and the comparison of the results there were used value of porosity with own measure and other student´s thesis of Brno University of technology. Sets of mechanical and structural properties were selected, evaluated and tested by statistical programs.

The purpose of this dilploma thesis is to evaluate mechanical and structural properties of two types casts of Al-alloy (components of the engine block) which were made by different technologies. Die casting with local squeeze casting and without local squeeze casting. First of them is used in lot manufacture of the current engine block. The aim of the foundry is to change the technology and start to produce new block by the die casting without local squeeze casting. The samples were taken from the both parts (lower and upper part) of the current and the new engine block which are made in foundry of Skoda Auto a.c. in Mladá Boleslav. Sets of mechanical and structural properties were selected, evaluated and tested by statistical programs. It was used fifty casts of the engine blocks for the experiment.
