Flair magazine: A study

Unknown Date (has links)
"A cursory examination of the magazine [Flair] convinced this writer that a more detailed study would be worthwhile. Such a study could be justified simply because the magazine did represent a departure from the traditional periodical publication. Therefore, it seemed a fairly detailed examination of the magazine itself, in an attempt to determine factors contributing to its failure, would be of value. In undertaking the study, the writer has felt that it would make a real contribution to her professional background, because the procedure developed for this paper may be applied to the new magazines she will encounted as a professional librarian. In reporting the results of this analysis, this writer has recorded the history and purposes of the magazine, together with a short review of the experience and abilities of its editors, a study of its contents, and a fairly brief analysis of its employment of graphic arts"--Introduction. / Typescript. / "June, 1953." / "Submitted to the Graduate Council of Florida State University in partial fulfillment of the requiremetns for the degree of Master of Arts." / Advisor: Mary Edna Anders, Professor Directing Paper. / Includes bibliographical references (leaves 84-85).
