This thesis deals with the issue of a waste management. It does not represent only the current legislation but also the new act on waste. The essence of the thesis is an analysis of the production and waste management in Prague. It evaluates the functionality of the integrated waste management system (IWMS) and compares it with the general requirements for an integrated approach. The new ways of efficiency, including a proposal for an environmentally and economically friendly waste management, are based on the acquired data as well as the data from the investigation. The new IWMS leads primarily to an increase of waste sorting in the region.
