Técnicas para estimativa de FRFS angulares em análise modal experimental com aplicações a estruturas do tipo viga / Techniques for the estimation of angular FRFs in modal testing with applications to beam type structures

Melina Lofrano 30 July 2003 (has links)
The present work aims to perform an investigation on experimental techniques for the determination of angular Frequency Response Functions (FRFs) in Modal Testing. Angular FRFs are those where the output variable is given by angular displacement, velocity or acceleration, whereas the input is given in terms of linear or angular quantities (a pure moment). Since the application of a pure moment as an excitation source still remains as a challenge, this work is focused in studying techniques to estimate angular/linear types of angular FRFs. One of these techniques consists of exciting the structure with a shaker and using a rigid T-block to measure the linear accelerations and then calculating the angular FRFs from these linear accelerations. Another technique employs finite differences formulations to get the angular motions. This technique uses the closely spaced accelerometers mounted directly to the structure under test, where at least two (according to the finite difference formula employed) accelerometers are used. The translational measurements are gathered and finite difference formulas are used to derive the necessary angular quantities. Additional tests are performed with an angular piezoelectric accelerometer recently available in the market in order to provide a comparison basis for the results obtained using the two techniques. The results are also compared whit theoretical models developed using analytical and Finite Element Formulations. Among all results obtained, it was understood that depending on the level of angular vibrations exhibited by the structure, and how the signals are processed, the resulting angular FRFs can suffer some significant changes

Generation of Vortex Beam Superpositions Using Angular Gratings

Dicaire, Marie-Claude January 2017 (has links)
Beams of light carrying orbital angular momentum, such as vortex beams, have many applications in imaging and micromanipulation. We focus on applications in communication, in particular for quantum key distribution, where the security of communication channels is enhanced with the laws of quantum mechanics. However, this procedure requires superpositions of vortex beams. We want to generate such beams using integrated optics components due to their small size and their advantages in scalability and stability. Angular gratings, which are ring resonators with an embedded Bragg grating, are integrated structures known to generate vortex beams. We propose that a ring resonator with two embedded Bragg gratings, each on the inner and outer sidewalls, would generate a superposition of vortex beams. We verify this claim through analytical models, simulations and experiments.

Theoretical study of some forbidden spectral lines

Wong, Kim Po January 1967 (has links)
The forbidden line (6sp³P₀ - 6s²¹S₀ ) λ2656Å is forbidden for all multipole transitions if the nucleus of Hg isotope has no magnetic moment. For Hg¹⁹⁹ the selection rule is broken by the interaction of the nuclear magnetic dipole moment with the atomic electrons. In this thesis the Zeeman effect of the line is discussed in detail. In particular, the intensity of the Zeeman components is calculated as a function of the external magnetic field. It turns out that even for an external magnetic field sufficient to produce the Back-Goudsmit effect (30,000 gauss) the intensity of Zeeman components changes by less than one percent. Also the effect of the interaction of the nuclear magnetic moment and atomic electrons on the intensity of forbidden lines (6 ¹S₀ - 6³P₁) λ4618Å and (6 ¹S₀ - 6³P₂) λ5313Å of Pb²⁰⁹ is calculated (in absence of external magnetic field). The effect is very small. / Science, Faculty of / Physics and Astronomy, Department of / Graduate

Conservation of Orbital Angular Momentum in High-Harmonic Generation

Gariepy, Genevieve January 2013 (has links)
Orbital angular momentum (OAM) is a property of light that is widely used for applications in bioimaging, optical communication and optical manipulation, but is mainly limited to the infrared and visible spectra. Developing a table-top source of Extreme Ultraviolet (XUV) light containing an arbitrary amount of OAM is yet to be achieved. We accomplish this by exploiting high-harmonic generation (HHG), a process whereby an infrared pump beam produces high order harmonics. We experimentally demonstrate the conservation of OAM in HHG by measuring harmonics of order n containing n times the OAM of the pump (n = 11, 13, 15 in our experiment). These results agree with our theoretical model. We also show theoretically how to manipulate the HHG process to impart an arbitrary amount of OAM to the di fferent harmonics. We hence show the way to a table-top and flexible source of XUV light containing orbital angular momentum.

Smarta blanketter : Integration och vidareutveckling av webbapplikation

Olsson, Allamo, Berglin, Elias January 2020 (has links)
The development of web applications has increased in popularity and more frameworks are created. Companies today can choose between a multitude of different frameworks to construct their web application. When an application concept is made the focus is not on the application's ability to integrate with other systems. The focus in development is in the concept of the application and the problems the application will solve. CSN has during the last year developed a web application with the primary focus of digitizing application forms. The application has room for more development and today the company stands before a difficult task. The application needs to work with the company’s content management system. This study has explored the possible tools that exist today for integration with web applications. With the help of a comparative analysis a suitable tool was found. Beyond the integration further development of the application was made. The purpose of this development was to make it easier to fill out these forms. In conjunction with the development of the autofill function the project group deemed it necessary to develop a warning system. This system will warn the developers at CSN when a form encounters an error. A usability test was performed to gather information about how familiar the result integration was to the normal workflow. The result is a successful integration, a new component in CSN’s application to handle the new system for prefilling data and a warning system to warn the developers and to show error logs that is produced when an error occurs. The result of the usability test was positive. Other authorities have heard of the possibilities of CSN’s application and their interest in digitalizing forms have increased. This is something that will have a positive impact on both the environment and the authority’s economics.
