Title of the thesis: Comparison of basic abilities of children of elementary school age attending athletics and modern pentathlon squad Student: Bc. Martin Chyba Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, PhD. Consultant: PhDr. Pavel Hráský, Ph.D. Aims of the thesis: To compare the level of basic ability in selected motor tests at athletes and modern pentathletes of the elementary school age. Methodology: Performance of athletes and modern pentathletes of elementary school age were compared in the following general tests: 12-minute run, one- way jump, stability tests, tests jump. At the same time, the body composition was monitored throughout the test group. Conclusions: Testing of base performance showed that there are no major differences between athletes and modern pentathletes. Despite slightly better average results of athletes, we can only register a statistically significant variance in "one-way jump" where athletes significantly outperformed pentathletes. Another variance was recorded in stability tests, namely standing on the right feet but only within boys category. Even in this case athletes achieved better results. This diploma thesis deals with evaluation methods of athletic multicontests, especially man decathlon. The main aim of the work is to analyze thoroughly a contemporary way of classification of points that has been used since 1984 and then propose new methods to modify or substitute the contemporary way of classification if needed. The main criterion for evaluation will be the equal way of classification of all disciplines. These methods are described in the theoretical part of the work and they are divided into mere adjustments of current curves for particular disciplines and methods drown from multicriterion evaluation of options. In the practical part, these methods are applied on real results, specifically on 100 best decathlons in history and on the last Olympic race. A specific evaluation of the application results emanates from the results of the application as well as final recommendation.

Title: Sponsorship activation of partners of Czech Athletic Federation Objectives: The aim of thesis is to create proposals for activating sponsorship for intentionally selected entities in connection with the Czech Athletic Federation on the basis of their own observations, case studies and in- depth interviews. The secondary goal is to evaluate the profile of companies in the role of sponsors and to determine the proposal for activations as a new discipline. Methods: Qualitative research based on in-depth interviews with representatives of selected companies, a case study and analysis of secondary data from documents dealing with athletics were used to determine specific activation proposals. Results: The results obtained from the research and the analysis of the profile of the Czech Athletic Federation and selected companies were used to determine specific proposals for activations for individual companies with involvement in Czech sports practice. Title: Management of Athletic Competition Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to analyse the management and in part the marketing of the senior league competition lead by the Czech Athletics Federation in the current form. Several improvements on the basis of the acquired knowledge were suggested. Methods: The descriptive analytical method and the SWOT analytical method were used. The former method was used for the analysis of the acquired materials on the management of the athletic league team competition of the Czech Republic. The SWOT analytical method was used for the analysis of the internal and external environment of the league team competition. On the basis of the latter several proposals for improvement were suggested. Results: It was found out that the Czech Athletic Extraleague should be aimed more at the audience. Currently carried out changes help to reach the goal. The improvement of the PR of the league should be gained, a partner for the league should be found and also the audience service related to the match should be improved. This thesis reports on an evolution of the media image of major athletics competitions, concretely of the World Athletics Championships and the European Athletics Championships. Using grounded theory methodology, the thesis seeks to examine which topics are used by Czech sports journalists publishing on sport.iDnes.cz, iSport.cz, and Sport.cz news websites. This paper aims to uncover the media's agenda and its eventual gradual changes based on articles dedicated to five chosen championships. The qualitative content analysis covers the period from 2009 to 2018. All the detected topics are divided into categories and subcategories, the findings are exemplified by quotations of relevant journalistic texts. The results of this analysis demonstrate the media image of the athletics. Besides that, the thesis also shows how the Czech online media worked with several sporting events. The final part of this paper includes a comparison of observed championships and a description of categories' development. The findings are also represented in a chart.

Diploma thesis "Sport and Intersexuality in Media" deals with the topic of intersexuality in professional sport, which was at the centre of media attention during the World Athletics Championship in Berlin in August 2009, as the South African athlete Caster Semenya won on the 800 m track. Because of her sports performance in conjunction with her appearance she had to undergo a sex test and until its evaluation she was excluded from athletic competitions. The aim of the study was to analyse texts published by selected nationally distributed Czech printed journals by using the quantitative content analysis and to describe the image of intersexuality, a publicly infrequently discussed topic, media submit to its readers, to capture any differences in the presentation of intersexuality and intersex people between the analysed media and to evaluate, whether and how the media contribute to retaining of the existing power order discriminating intersex people or whether they try to undermine this order.

Title: The Occurrence of Lower Crossed Syndrome in Sprinters and the Possibilities of Influencing it in Physiotherapy Objectives: To determine the prevalence of lower crossed syndrome in specific group of sprinters and compare it with control group. To compare occurrence especially in men and women in sprint. Methods: To obtain informations from the research were used clinical tests- muscle test by Janda for testing muscle strength of m. rectus abdominis (trunk flexion test), m. gluteus maximus (test of extension in hip with contemporary flexion in knee), m. gluteus medius et minimus (test of abduction in the hip joint) and examination of frequently shortened muscle groups by Janda for examination shortening of the hip flexor muscles (m. iliopsoas, m. rectus femoris and m. tensor fascia latae) m. quadratus lumborum- lateral variant and paravertebral back muscles. To select probands into research and control groups was created nonstandard questionnaire with open and closed questions. In the research there were 40 probands. Results: The results show that the lower crossed syndrome by Janda is more common in sports recreationally individuals than sprinters. Furthermore the lower crossed syndrome by Janda is more common in sprinters- men than in sprinters- women, but here the results are not so clear....

Adéla Markvartová Title: The views of the runners on the middle and long distance to regeneration in the sport Objectives: The aim of diploma thesis is to detect views of runners on the middle and long distance to regeneration in the sport in terms of their use due to gender and to specialization of runners. Methods: Diploma thesis is divided to two parts - theoretical and practical. Theoretical part is about regeneration in sport and the practical part talks about opinions of of runners on the middle and long distance to regeneration in the sport. Compares each methods of regeneration due to gender and to specialization of runners. It was used nonstandard questionnaire, during championship of the Czech republic in athletics (from 18th to 19th June) in Tábor. Number of 110 runners on the middle and long distance were interviewed. Questionnaire was filled by 91 athletes, 46 men ad 45 women. Results: Research showed that runners realize importance of regeneration in training process. Men are more confident about positive influence of regeneration in performance and also in injury prevention. Title: Sports career biography of Imrich Bugár Objectives: The main aim of this paper is to evaluate and present a twenty-year long sports career of discus-thrower Imrich Bugár by the means of content analysis of newspaper articles published in the journal Czechoslovakian sport. Methods: Biographic research was used as one kind of a case study. The paper is divided into three main parts. The first part is concerned with the summary of all newspaper articles written during Bugár's sports career. I have statistically categorized the articles according to the criteria stated by Jan Volf in his diploma paper of 2007. The second part of the paper is concerned with information gained from Imrich Bugár personally, during a conducted interview. The third part shows a summary of Bugár's best achievements. Results: Based on the accessible materials, I have described and evaluated the sports career of Imrich Bugár. In total, I have evaluated n = 348 articles concerned with his sports career. The next part presents a commented evaluation of the conducted interview with Imrich Bugár. When categorization of the articles is taken into account, most articles about the course of Bugár's career are of an informative character and describe his participation in competitions.
