This work aims to segregate the morphologies of the head adornments of anthropomorphic figures present in recognizable rock art scenes found in sites located in the sub-drainage basin of the Carnaúba river. The purpose of this segregation is to identify graphic patterns in these representations, based on adornment-scene typological structures, and to verify if such patterns would be temporally close to each other, revealing cultural connections. It is also taken into account the body as a support for attributes, which reflects, visually, some cultural aspects and the individual’s personal concepts. Thus, an analytical approach has been developed to scrutinize the thematic, scenic and technical dimensions of this graphic phenomenon in order to collect data about the graphic structure of realization. In the theoretical field, information from anthropological studies that show the use of the body as a reflection of an individual’s culture has been applied to the data. Results from the analytical approach and conjectures from theoretical considerations have been compared using the hypothetico-deductive method, aiming at finding possible answers to then confirm or refute the hypothesis proposed in this research. In order to achieve this, 30 rock art scenes have been analysed, which included 17 types of head adornment associated to 4 different themes: Hermetic, violence, sex and hunt, this study resulted in an acknowledgement of inter-scene and intra-scene similarities and differences evidenced between the head adornments, demonstrating possible identities and alterities between groups, considering the geographic location of the sites and the graphic representations.
