El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo principal explorar la autopercepción de las personas mayores jubiladas sobre su propio envejecimiento en esta etapa de cambio laboral. Para ello, se llevó a cabo un método cualitativo con enfoque fenomenológico a través del análisis temático. Se entrevistaron a 3 adultos mayores y 3 adultas mayores jubiladas residentes de cuatro departamentos del Perú. Dentro de los resultados, se halló que la vivencia del envejecimiento va a depender de factores como el género, la edad, los tiempos de jubilación y el cómo vivieron el tiempo de trabajo. En cuanto a las percepciones sobre el significado del envejecimiento, se encontró, por un lado, una mirada positiva por la que se considera que las personas poseen recursos necesarios para poder adaptarse a esta etapa. Además, son conscientes de los declives a causa del envejecimiento y de los cambios por la jubilación, pero con un sentido de aceptación. Por otro lado, se establece una mirada negativa que se enfoca solo desde las pérdidas y la inactividad, lo cual es difundido y aceptado por la sociedad. / The main objective of this study was to explore the self-perception of retired older people about their own aging in this stage of job change. For this, a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach was carried out through thematic analysis. 3 older women adults and 3 older men adults residing in four departments of Peru were interviewed. Among the results, it was found that the experience of aging will depend on factors such as gender, age, retirement times and how they lived their working time. As for the perceptions about the meaning of aging, it was found, on the one hand, a positive view by which it is considered that people have the necessary resources to be able to adapt to this stage. In addition, they are aware of declines due to aging and changes due to retirement, but with a sense of acceptance. On the other hand, a negative view is established that focuses only on losses and inactivity, which is disseminated and accepted by society.
