Estado nutricional de bailarines adultos finalistas del concurso nacional de marinera norteña del Club Libertad, Lima 2015

Introducción: La marinera norteña es uno de los bailes que representa a la nación peruana. En promedio se realizan 84 concursos al año a nivel nacional, lo que demanda la preparación de muchos bailarines. La frecuencia de ensayos de baile incrementa el gasto energético, por lo que la energía dietaría debe ser aportada adecuadamente para un óptimo estado nutricional que se plasma en el rendimiento físico del bailarín, quienes podrían presentar una deficiencia energética o de determinado nutriente, como se evidencia en estudios realizados en bailarines de ballet y de danzas folclóricas de otros países. Objetivos: Determinar el estado nutricional de bailarines adultos finalistas del Concurso Nacional de Marinera Norteña del Club Libertad, 2015. Diseño: Estudio descriptivo, transversal. Lugar: Lima Metropolitana, Perú. Participantes: (19 V y 21 M) bailarines adultos finalistas de marinera norteña del 55º Concurso Nacional de Marinera Norteña del Club Libertad realizado en Trujillo, La Libertad. Intervenciones: Mediciones antropométricas y de hemoglobina. Aplicación del cuestionario de frecuencia de consumo de alimentos semicuantitativo. Principales medidas de resultados: Índice de masa corporal, área muscular o reserva proteica, riesgo cardiovascular, concentración de hemoglobina y adecuación de energía, macronutrientes y micronutrientes (hierro, calcio, magnesio, potasio, zinc) dietarios. Resultados: El 30% (4 M y 8 V) presentaron sobrepeso, el 7.5% (1 mujer y 2 varones) presentaron baja reserva proteica, el 10% (1 M y 3 V) riesgo cardiovascular y el 17.5% (7 M) anemia leve, excepto una tuvo anemia moderada. Los porcentajes de adecuaciones de energía y nutrientes en mujeres fueron inadecuadas: energía (87.9%), proteína (88.5%), carbohidrato (96.3%), grasa (89,5%), calcio (58.1%), magnesio (92.9%), potasio (64.6%), zinc (82.2%) y hierro (69.2%); en varones fueron inadecuadas a excepción del hierro: energía (89.8%), proteína (90.2%), carbohidrato (95.42%), grasa (82%), calcio (57.8%), magnesio (85.7%), potasio (74.8%), zinc (74.6%) y hierro (137.8%). Conclusiones: Se presenta mal nutrición por exceso de calorías; el 30% de bailarines presentó sobrepeso, el 7.5% reserva proteica baja y 10% elevado riesgo cardiovascular; en las mujeres el 17.5% presentó anemia de grado leve (n=6) y grado moderado (n=1); y su dieta es inadecuada ya que los participantes no cubren sus recomendaciones de macro y micronutriente, a excepción del hierro en varones. Palabras clave: Estado nutricional, bailarines, marinera norteña, alimentación, anemia. / --- Introduction: The marinera norteña is one of dancing which representing our nation, on average 84 contests are performed in Peru which requires the preparation of many dancers. The frequency of dance rehearsals makes the energy expenditure increases, so that nutrients must be adequately provided for optimal nutritional status that will translate into the physical performance of the dancer. Often the dancers could present an energy or certain nutrient deficiency, this is evidenced by various studies in ballet and some folk dances from other countries. Objectives: To determine the nutritional status of adult dancers of the National Contest finalists Club Libertad at Trujillo. Design: crosssectional descriptive study. Location: metropolitan Lima, Peru. Participants: Dancers adults of marinera norteña finalists of the 55th National Competition of the Marinera Norteña Club Libertad in Trujillo, La Libertad. Interventions: anthropometric, biochemical and application of frequency questionnaire semiquantitative food consumption measures. Main outcome measures: Percentage of body mass index, arm muscle area, cardiovascular risk according to waist circumference, anemia, macronutrients adequacy, energy, iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium and zinc. Results: 30% (n = 12) of adult dancers finalists were overweight, 7.5% (n = 3) Dancers have low protein reserves, 13% (n = 5) Dancers presented cardiovascular risk; 17.5% (n = 7) dancers had anemia, all of which are women. The adjustments of energy and nutrients in women were inadequate: energy (87.9%), protein (88.5%), carbohydrate (96.3%), fat (89.5%), calcium (58.1%), magnesium ( 92.9%), potassium (64.6%), zinc (82.2%) and iron (69.2%); on the other hand males the adjustments of energy and nutrients were inadequate except iron: energy (89.8%), protein (90.2%), carbohydrate (95.42%), fat (82%), calcium (57.8%), magnesium (85.7%), potassium (74.8%), zinc (74.6%) and iron (137.8 %). Conclusions: The nutritional status of the dancers, presents a 30% overweight, 7.5% low protein reserve and 10% of high cardiovascular risk; women 17.5% have mild anemia (n = 6) and moderate (n = 1); and their diet is inadequate and that participants do not cover their macro and micronutrient requirements, except for the iron men.
