Komponovaná krajina Františka Josefa Schlika a "krajinotvorba" kolem roku 1700 / Landscape Composition of Count Frantisek Josef Schlik and the "Landscape Creation" around the Year 1700

Rychnová, Lucie January 2016 (has links)
This thesis describes the landscape composition of Czech Count Frantisek Josef Slik (Frantz Joseph Schlik, 1656-1740) and attempts to define the influences and principles which were involved in the formation of the landscape in the manors of Kopidlno, Stare Hrady and Velis- Voksice, now in the Czech Republic, during the life of the aristocrat. Frantisek Josef Schlik ruled the manors for over 60 years and during that time he was responsible for many architectural works with considerable landscape-forming and urbanistic potential. A series of visually interlinked chapels was erected in the Velis-Voksice manor. This series included the meierhof with a little palace in Voksice. This landscape composition has been discussed especially as regards its formal design, but its connection to the Count's motivation has been less well researched, as has been the broader social and, especially, religious context in the area. Another aspect that has been put aside, or not perceived within the context of the manorial landscape, were other structures which Frantisek Josef Schlik built or which were of essential importance for the activities in the manor. These structures, meierhofs, were also significant landscape components. This dissertation first attempts to provide a biography of Frantisek Josef Schlik,...

Une architecture sous influence - Malte et les architectes et ingénieurs militaires français pendant le règne de Louis XIV (1643-1715) : les choix politiques de l'ordre de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem / The influence of an architecture - Malta and the architects and military engineers during the reign of Louis XIV (1643-1715) : the political choices of the order of Saint John of Jerusalem

Busuttil, Claude 12 November 2018 (has links)
This doctoral thesis consists of a research-based investigation on the different forms and types of French influence within the strategic politics of the Order of St. John and the gradual loss of Spanish domination in Malta. It examines the French influence on Maltese architecture during the seventeenth century that resulted from this change of allegiance. For this purpose the political, strategic, social and aesthetic factors, as well as the study of the formation and careers of the different personalities involved, are analysed in order to understand the importance of their role on the development of seventeenth century fortifications of the Maltese Islands and on the local architectural idiom. The various connections of the Knights belonging to the three French Langues with the French Court are therefore investigated in their historical context. This is also examined through the frequent correspondence between the Grand Masters and Kings Louis XIII and Louis XIV. The study shows how the arrival on the local scene of eminent French military engineers during the summer of 1645, marks the passage of the Order from the Spanish sphere of influence to the French. The French military engineers were active in the Maltese archipelago since Vauban had put France at the helm of the development of military architecture in the second half of the seventeenth century. The importance of Médéric Blondel, the first French resident engineer, as a catalyst of the development of French influence on Maltese architecture is investigated. The study examines how his influence is reflected on the work of Maltese architects at the end of the seventeenth century and on the classical elements which are introduced into Maltese baroque architecture that is highly influenced by the classical school of French architecture so greatly appreciated by Louis XIV.

Antonio Ehorto Martinelli jako schwarzenberský knížecí architekt a stavitel / Antonio Ehorto Martinelli as the architect and builder of Princes of Schwarzenberg

Šanda, Martin January 2011 (has links)
The dissertation is dealing with work of Viennese architect and builder from the first half of the 18th century Antonio Ehorto Martinelli in the Schwarzenberk's service in the years 1722-1732. It contains an index of buildings, that Martinelli was working on for Schwarzenberks, including contentious and mistakenly ascribed buildings. The collected information is based on study of extant archival collections, on field research of separate buildings and on study of the relevant literature. The main goal was an evaluation of separate Martinelli's architectural fruitions relating to history of art, and furthuremore an attempt to compare them both within the bounds of the whole architect's work and within the bounds of contemporary Czech and Austrian architecture. The knowledge of work of A. E. Martinelli in the Shwarzenberk's service was markedly extended on the occasion of dealing with the settled topic and moreover a few little and even a few bigger new pieces of knowledge appeared, e.g. information about concerned gangers, building development of the studied objects out of the settled period etc.

Zámek a kostel sv. Jana Nepomuckého ve Vyklanticích za Harrachů / The Mannor House and the S. John of Nepomuk Church in Vyklantice in the Age of Harrach

NEVAŘILOVÁ, Zuzana January 2018 (has links)
My thesis deals with the buildings of the castle and the church of Saint John of Nepomuk in Vyklantice which was built between 1722 and 1729 by Jan Jáchym Harrach. Firstly, the work presents the history of the Vyklantice manor and the history of both buildings. Description of the present state of the castle and the church is confronted with photographs from the 1970s. Finally, the work focuses on the genealogy of the Harrachs family and other estates owned by Jan Jáchym and his brother Ferdinand Markvart Harrach. The core of the thesis is in the following chapters which deal with a question of authorship of the Vyklantice constructions. The first criticism has been made on actual addition of researchers who attribute these objects to K. I. Dientzenhofer or J. B. Santini-Aichl and J. L. von Hildebrandt. The survey shows that the buildings in Vyklantice are probably the work of a local builder, as objects do not show the quality of the artistic creation of the architects mentioned above.
