Conclui-se que o crescimento das duas regi??es est?? mais ligado a desconcentra????o econ??mica de S??o Paulo e n??o a uma capacidade de crescimento end??geno destas regi??es. / This article makes a comparison between the economic growth of the metropolitan regions of Curitiba and Belo Horizonte utilizing data from the periods between 1985 to 1997. It is about the theoretical models used in the analysis and explains the growing dynamic of these regions through the Shift-Share method and by the analysis of exportation coefficients and importation. It is concluded that the growth of both regions is more linked to the economic decentralization from S??o Paulo, and not from an ability of endogenous growth of these regions. / Economia e Finan??as
