This report studies the research question "What benefits are highlighted by the public sector in their digitization projects and how do the projects work with value realization for these benefits? ". To answer this question, a number of digitization projects from two different public organizations, the municipality of Sundsvall and “Region Västernorrland”.  To study how the organizations work with benefits and value realization around the five selected digitization projects, a qualitative study was conducted that studied each project's documentation and interviewed key people managing the project. The empirics of the projects were analyzed and compared with each other based on the analytical model presented in this paper and was also compared with previous research in digital transformation, value realization and other similar studies conducted in the public sector in order to compare the results between the parts of the issue in the research area.  The results of this work show that the organizations worked towards achieving benefits in all of the five benefit categories presented in this work to a varying degree, but that the majority of digitization projects almost individually carried out value realization for the benefit category "Economic benefit and efficiency". The study also showed, among other things, that digitization projects generally generated large savings for the business but also tend to exceed both budget and time schedules in the majority of cases. / I denna rapport studeras frågeställningen “Vilka nyttor lyfts fram av offentliga verksamheter i deras digitaliseringsprojekt och hur arbetar projekten med effekthemtagning kring dessa nyttor?”. För att svara på denna frågeställning studeras ett antal digitaliseringsprojekt från två olika offentliga verksamheter, Sundsvalls kommun och Region Västernorrland.  För att studera hur verksamheterna arbetar med nyttor och effekthemtagning kring de fem utvalda digitaliseringsprojekten utfördes en kvalitativ studie som studerade varje projekts dokumentation samt intervjuade projektens nyckelpersoner. Projektens empiri analyserades och jämfördes med varandra utifrån en analytisk modell samt jämfördes med tidigare forskning inom digital transformation, effekthemtagning och andra liknande studier utförda på den offentliga sektorn i syfte att jämföra resultaten mellan frågeställningens delar inom forskningsområdet.  Resultatet utav detta arbete påvisar att verksamheterna arbetat mot att uppnå nyttor i samtliga av de fem nyttokategorier som presenteras i detta arbete till varierande grad, men att majoriteten av digitaliseringsprojekt nästan enskilt utfört effekthemtagning för nyttokategorin “Ekonomisk nytta och effektivisering”. Studien visade också bland annat att digitaliseringsprojekt generellt genererade stora besparingar för verksamheten men tenderar även att överskrida både budget och tidsplan i majoriteten av fall.
