O transporte e o manejo dos bovinos de corte são importantes componentes no sistema de produção de bovinos de corte. O presente trabalho visou definir, caracterizar, classificar os modais de transporte de bovinos e avaliar as atuais condições da infra-estrutura logística dos meios de transporteem três sub-regiões do Pantanal (Paiagás, Nhecolândia, Nabileque e Paraguai), através de duas abordagens: a avaliação da dinâmica do transporte e comercialização dos bovinos e a avaliação da dinâmica do transporte fluvial dos bovinos no porto de Ladário, MS. E por fim o desenvolvimento de método digital para determinar a idade das lesões O presente estudo demonstrou que a comercialização das diferentes categorias bovinas é fortemente governada por dois fatores principais: o clima (principalmente as chuvas) e o manejo tradicional dos bovinos. Os resultados revelaram as peculiaridades dos três modais: comitivas (“a pé”), rodoviário e fluvial. Esta infra-estrutura é caracterizada pela presença de carências nos modais e por dificuldades na logistica. Também o presente estudo demonstrou que através de um método simples e barato por meio da analise colorimétrica utilizando imagem digital determinar o momento em que as lesões ocorreram. / The Pantanal Mato-grossense is a vast flood plain, located in the centre-west of Brazil. The transport and handling of beef cattle are important components in the system of production in the Pantanal. This study aimed define, characterize and classify the modal transport of beef cattle and assess the current conditions of the infrastructure in logistic of transport, in three subregion of Pantanal (Paiaguás, Nhecolandia, Nabileque and Paraguay), through two approaches: the assessment of the dynamics of the transport and marketing of cattle and evaluation of the dynamics of the fluvial transport of cattle in the port of Ladário, MS. And finally the development of digital method to determine the age of bruises. This study shown that the marketing of different classes of beef cattle is strongly governed by two main factors: the weather (mainly rain) and the traditional cattle management. The results revealed the peculiarities of three modals: “on foot”, road and fluvial. The infrastructure of cattle transport is characterized by the presence of deficiencies in the modals and by difficulties in the logistic. Also, this study demonstrated that through a simple and inexpensive colorimetric method using digital image is possible determine when the bruise occurred.
