All the classes held at the Physic, Chemestry and Biology laboratories of a private school to the elementary third grade children were accompanied. Afterwards, questionnaires and interviews were applied to teachers and students of this grade in oreder to detect positive and negative aspects of these activities and its repercussions. It was possible to verify that the classes held at the Science laboratories are of a great importance in the student’s scholar life and that these activities should be provided to the children since the initial grades, in which the concepts of Science start to be presented to the children and studied by them. / Este trabalho trata da importância dos laboratórios de Ciências para alunos das séries iniciais. Foram acompanhadas todas as aulas das turmas de terceira série do Ensino Fundamental ocorridas nos laboratórios de Física, de Química e de Biologia de uma escola privada. Após, foram realizados questionários e entrevistas com professores e alunos dessa série para detectar aspectos positivos e negativos dessas atividades e suas repercussões. Foi possível verificar que as aulas ocorridas nos laboratórios de Ciências são de grande importância na vida escolar dos estudantes e que elas devem ser proporcionadas aos alunos desde as séries iniciais, nas quais os conceitos de Ciências começam a ser apresentados e construídos pelos alunos
