Through the theory of the indefenition of the being by Cornelious Castoriadis, we analysed Marcelo as autonomous being who evidences the incoherences of the mass culture and the left wing Brazilian movement portrayed in the film As Amorosas. Not satisfied with the identity options of the society, in which he belongs, he finds a creative way to live his transcendency. The purpose of this work is to evidence in what way Marcelo is the parody of Freud’s psychoanalysis. Because of this, we studied the concepts of the institutional imaginary, by Castoriadis, the theories of Sigmund Freud and the context of the psychoanalytic speeches with Michel Foucault. So, we analysed the transformations of the character throughout the 30 years of existance and we compared it with other contemporary national films to Marcelo. As methodology, we used the film analysis of Jacques Aumont, Francis Vanoye and Anne Goliot-Lété.
