Failure Analysis Modelling in an Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) Environment

Yes / Failure Prediction has long known to be a challenging problem. With the evolving trend of technology and growing complexity of high-performance cloud data centre infrastructure, focusing on failure becomes very vital particularly when designing systems for the next generation. The traditional runtime fault-tolerance (FT) techniques such as data replication and periodic check-pointing are not very effective to handle the current state of the art emerging computing systems. This has necessitated the urgent need for a robust system with an in-depth understanding of system and component failures as well as the ability to predict accurate potential future system failures. In this paper, we studied data in-production-faults recorded within a five years period from the National Energy Research Scientific computing centre (NERSC). Using the data collected from the Computer Failure Data Repository (CFDR), we developed an effective failure prediction model focusing on high-performance cloud data centre infrastructure. Using the Auto-Regressive Moving Average (ARMA), our model was able to predict potential future failures in the system. Our results also show a failure prediction accuracy of 95%, which is good.

Интернет, представляющий собой глобальную компьютерную сеть, доступную как для общественности, так и для бизнеса, остается самым надежным инструментом универсального общения и обмена данными, личными фотографиями и даже образовательными материалами. Недавний кризис, поразивший мир (эпидемия covid-19), позволила нам понять важность разработки ИТ-инструментов, которые облегчили бы общение между компаниями, коллегами, семьей и особенно в сфере образования. Реализация приложения, связанного с нашим проектом, потребует использования облачной системы для предоставления широкого доступа к этому приложению. На начальном этапе внедрение будет осуществляться в локальном системе, чтобы убедиться, что все работает хорошо, а затем мы будем использовать интернет-платформу для достижения цели. The Internet, which is a global computer network accessible to the public and business, remains the most reliable tool for universal communication and exchange of data, personal photographs and even educational materials. The recent crisis that has hit the world, I quote covid-19, has allowed everyone to understand the importance of developing IT tools that facilitates communication between companies, colleagues, family, and especially in the field of education. The implementation of an application related to our project will require the use of a cloud system to provide wide access to this application. In the initial phase, the implementation will be carried out on the local system to ensure that everything works well, and then we will use the Internet platform to achieve the goal. This application is designed to help teachers and students use different writing formats in the same space.

This master thesis deals with the topic of Internet of Things and its use in technical diagnostic. In theoretical part, there is a description of IoT systems and its parts, history of the IoT, communication modules and cloud systems. The second part of the thesis is focused on the description of technical diagnostic, diagnostic signal, and detailed description of two methods, most appropriate for use in IoT systems and that is vibrodiagnostic and thermodiagnostic. The practical part is focused on the application of the IoT system in technical diagnostics, including the measurement of vibrations and temperature, on the description of application in cloud system and analysis of measured results in cloud system. Prior to the end the more actions in this field of IoT systems has been recommended.
