In this sense, capoeira, as well as many other expressions of the objectivity and subjectivity of the slave societies that survived the bourgeois revolutions scattered all over the world, being adapted, re-elaborated, re-signified according to the private interests of the new ruling classes, gain new meanings, Goals and meanings in the scene of the development of Brazilian bourgeois society, forged strongly by the unique features of Latin American capitalism. Between fight, play and / or dance; Sport, art and culture capoeira expresses the Afro-Brazilian culture forged in the process of national historical, cultural, economic and political development. Thus, the objective of the research is to analyze the historical constitution of culture and resistance in Brazil through capoeira. It is based on the history of capoeira in Brazil and the reports of some capoeiristas of the Cultural Center of Capoeira Águia Branca, that is the universe of the research. The research has essentially qualitative character, with theoretical foundation in dialectical historical materialism. Documentary, bibliographic research and field research were used, with a semi-structured interview. It was possible to perceive, with the result of the research, that there is a historical load of capoeira as a cultural manifestation of struggle and resistance. However, in its emergence, it is clear the conception of capoeira and social struggles, but nowadays, through cooptation of the State and in the development of Brazilian society, capoeira converges with some social movements, being present in the scenario in the social struggles, but The capoeiristas do not have a collective consciousness, a class consciousness. In the context of culture, it still manifests as an expression of resistance, showing its history and the daily life of capoeiristas, mostly workers. However, much has to advance in the collective class consciousness, with ideals of political and human emancipation / Este estudo tem como objeto de análise a capoeira enquanto manifestação de cultura e resistência. Os elementos culturais são certamente um tipo de substância que sobrevive ao tempo e ao processo socio-histórico transformador. Neste sentido a capoeira, assim como muitas outras expressões da objetividade e subjetividade das sociedades escravocratas que sobreviveram às revoluções burguesas espalhadas por todos os cantos do mundo, sendo adaptadas, reelaboradas, ressignificadas de acordo com os interesses privados das novas classes dominantes, ganham novos sentidos, objetivos e significados na cena do desenvolvimento da sociedade burguesa brasileira, forjada fortemente pelos traços singulares do capitalismo latino americano. Entre luta, jogo e/ou dança; esporte, arte e cultura a capoeira expressa a cultura afro-brasileira inserida no processo do desenvolvimento histórico, cultural, econômico e político nacional. Representação singular do desenvolvimento econômico, social, político e histórico latino americano no país. Assim sendo, o objetivo da pesquisa é analisar a constituição histórica da cultura e resistência no Brasil por meio da capoeira. Toma-se por base a história da capoeira no Brasil e os relatos de alguns capoeiristas do Centro Cultural de Capoeira Águia Branca, que é o universo da pesquisa. A pesquisa tem caráter essencialmente qualitativo, com fundamentação teórica no materialismo histórico dialético. Foi utilizada a pesquisa documental, bibliográfica e a pesquisa de campo, com entrevista semiestruturada. Foi possível apreender, com o resultado da pesquisa, que existe uma carga histórica da capoeira enquanto manifestação cultural de luta e resistência. No entanto, em seu surgimento, é claro a concepção da capoeira e lutas sociais, mas na atualidade, passando por cooptação do Estado e no desenvolvimento da sociedade brasileira, a capoeira converge com alguns movimentos sociais, estando presente no cenário nas lutas sociais, mas os capoeiristas não tem uma consciência coletiva, uma consciência de classe. No âmbito da cultura, ela ainda se manifesta como expressão da resistência, mostrando sua história e o cotidiano dos capoeiristas, em sua maioria, trabalhadores. No entanto, muito tem a avançar no que tange a consciência coletiva, de classe, com ideais de emancipação política e humana
