Educação de jovens e adultos : estudo de caso no Centro de Estudos Supletivos - SENAI / Young and adult education: a case study in the Center for Suppletive Studies

Graça Helena Silva de Souza 21 October 2005 (has links)
In order to enable a better approach to the case, this investigation has tracked down some of the historical facts which have characterized the political and educational scene built up as from the seventies, a period in which the first Centers for Suppletive Studies were implemented in this State. With those data at hand, we sought to place the case in question within the broader context of the existing proposal for youth and adults schooling (EJA), thus trying to understand the complexity of that Center of Studies as well as its ways of dealing with semipresential educational programs, their limits and possibilities. Such strategy has provided the means for us to apprehend some of the tensions produced by conflicts broken out between instituted and instituting logic, in relation to the format developed by EJA during those early years, and then contrast it with questions pertaining to the present format. The study was carried out mainly by way of dialoguing with school teachers, who have also supplied samples of the work produced by students matriculated in basic school in 2004. Based on this important information, we could ponder on the discontinuity and fragmentation entailed by young and adult students constant interruption of their way through school, thus identifying some of the relatioships between this phenomenon and the semipresential teaching offered by the regular educational system.
