Hardware and software development of a uClinux Voice over IP telephone platform

Johnsson, Sven January 2007 (has links)
<p>Voice over IP technology (VoIP) has recently gained popularity among consumers. Many popular VoIP services exist only as software for PCs. The need of taking such services out of the PC, into a stand-alone device has been discovered, and this thesis work deals with the development of such a device. The thesis work is done for Häger Scandinavia AB, a Swedish telephone manufacturer. This thesis work covers the design of a complete prototype of a table-top VoIP telephone running an embedded Linux Operating system. Design areas include product development, hardware design and software design. The result is a working prototype with hardware and corresponding Linux device drivers. The prototype can host a Linux application adapted to it. Conclusions are that the first hardware version has worked well and that using an open-source operating system is very useful. Further work consists of implementing a complete telephony software application in the system, evaluation of system requirements and adapting the prototype for a commercial design.</p>

Laboratorní úlohy pro mikrokontrolér ColdFire MCF52233 / Laboratory assignments for microcontroller ColdFire MCF52233

Dyčka, Ondřej January 2010 (has links)
This master’s thesis contains design of practice exercises for microcontroller MCF52233 firm Freescale. Exercises are focused on working with basic peripheries as counters and timers, measurement with A/D converters, PWM modulation or I2C bus. Exercises are interested in evaluation of matrix keyboard and communication with alphanumeric display controller. To these exercises is made a preparation of external peripherals, which is connected with evaluation kit M52233DEMO. This preparation contains all necessary peripheries, which are used for practice exercises – buttons, LED diodes, potentiometer and I2C periphery. Individual periphery usually shares connection to microcontroller with another periphery. Therefore preparation contains switches, which are necessary to set up for correct functionality of the peripherals. The board of external peripheral also includes ports for connecting matrix keyboards and alphanumeric display. Connecting the display requires an external power supply. Work deals with implementation of laboratory exercises using a software firm Freescale. Development environment for programming and basic debugging is in program CodeWarrior. More advanced possibility of reading information from a running program in the microcontroller offers program FreeMaster, which is used in the exercise of AD converters. Each lab exercise contains an introduction, task, instructions and the flowchart of realized exercise. Instructions are written so that it contains important steps to properly manage assignments. Individual exercises are designed to gradually increasing complexity of exercises students obtain basic programming habits and manage the complex exercise.

Správa UPS zdrojů s využitím technologie GSM / Management of UPS Supplies with GSM Technology

Hájek, Josef January 2009 (has links)
Theme of the Master's thesis is issue of backup power units and its attributes. There is also complete proposal of UPS power unit which can be used to control and monitor backup batteries. Power supply is fully controlled via Ethernet interface using TCI/IP protocol. The other chapter describes complete development of TCI/IP GSM unit which can be used for communication interface between GSM and Ethernet protocol. UPS and GSM modules are developed in details. The Master.s thesis includes all needed information for HW unit development and also for controlling software as well. Universal solution of the modules allows number possibilities of further development.

Inteligentní teploměr / Inteligent thermometer

Wirt, Tomáš January 2008 (has links)
This graduation thesis deals with temperature sensors and theirs connection to the microcontroller MCF52233. In the introductory chapters there is description of the principles and characteristics of the heat sensitive elements and theirs abilities of connection to the microcontrollers. Further there is a real proposal and description of the connection realization with sensors DS1620 (intelligent temperature sensor which communicates via serial synchronous link), DS18B20 (intelligent temperature sensor which communicates via 1-Wire bus), LM335 (precise temperature sensor) and KTY81-210 (resistance temperature sensor which is made of silicon). There was a need to create software for the communication between sensors and microcontroller MCF52233. Communication with the superior PC computer was done by USB interface. Software background was created to show temperature readings on the PC computer. Besides the realized USB communication there was done theoretical analysis of the communication via Ethernet bus. On the enclosed CD you can find testing software for the microcontroller and PC computer which allows you to get temperature values from sensors and show them on the screen of the PC computer.

Implementace ovladače I2S Audio v systému Freescale MQX RTOS / Implementation of the I2S Driver into the Freescale MQX RTOS

Možný, Karel January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with design and development of a I2S module driver for real-time operating system MQX running on a ColdFire V4 architecture based processor. Further there are presented circuit diagrams and PCBs created for testing of functions and properties of the driver. Signal input is a digital audio in form of S/PDIF interface, output is an analogue signal, that can be listened by the means of a headphone amplifier. The conclusion describes a sample application demonstrating function of the driver on developed hardware.

Vestavěný webový server založený na platformě Freescale / Embedded Web Server Based on Freescale Platform

Šilon, Peter January 2010 (has links)
Embedded web server (EWS) is a web server that runs on a device with limited computing power and memory. By implementing a web server into embedded device with network connectivity we achieve new way of long distance management and control. Web technologies offer user-friendly GUI, simplicity and low prices. The aim of this project is a design of the EWS using Freescale resources. EWS have to have a slot for memory card, on-board peripheries or interfaces signals attached to connecter to allow connection of external devices. Firmware will be built on one of the freeware TCP/IP implementation for embedded systems.
