Purpose/Aim: To investigate how a embassy communicate the culture from their nativecountry, to find out how their communication is structurized, to investigate how ever aembassy have other purposes for their culture communication rather then the obvious Economic and political aspects and to find out if there are any differences in the cultural communication between different countries . Material/Method: I carried out three different interviews with three representatives from the countries Canada, Slovakia and the Philippines. I then analyzed the results from the interviews with my chosen theories, four step public relations process, Culture Diplomacy and Competitive identity. Main results: I reached the conclusions that the chosen embassies communicate their nativecountries culture on a preferable way and that culture have a high priority to communicate tothe embassy. Their communication organization is strictly hierarchic with the Government of their native country as the shaper of communications strategies and policies. There are several other aspects to why the culture communications is current in the embassies agenda, among these is the possibility to connect on friendly basis and to cooperate with the purpose to  spread their culture in the countries they are posted in. There are many similarities in the culture communication of the embassies, but not so many differences. Keywords: Embassies, Culture Communication, Communication Structures.Communication Purposes.

The Role of Information Technology Organizational Design in Firms' Ability to Innovate

Halimi, Hassan S. 01 January 2015 (has links)
Information technology (IT) organizations have become an integral part of many firms, with increasing strategic significance. Consequently, investments in IT represent a significant percentage of a firm's expenditure. Despite the investment, the business value of IT has been difficult to quantify, creating uncertainty about a firm's investments in IT innovation. The purpose of this nonexperimental study was to examine relationships between a firm's innovativeness and 3 IT organizational design factors: knowledge creation, dynamic capabilities, and communication structures. The research questions addressed the relationships between a firm's ability to innovate and specific design elements of the IT organization. The study was based on Nonaka's dynamic theory of organizational knowledge creation, Schumpeter's industrial market structure, and Wernerfelt's resource-based view of the firm. Data were collected from an online survey with 115 employees of firms that depend on IT to deliver their products or services. Pearson product-moment correlational analysis revealed statistically significant relationships between the IT organizational design factors and a firm's ability to innovate. The implications for positive social change stemming from this study affect managers of firms that rely on IT to deliver products or services. The findings suggest that the design of the IT organization influences the performance of the firm through cost reduction and its sustainability through innovation, both of which lead to community economic empowerment thus benefiting the general public.

We applied the pedagogical, linguistic, and marginally also the musicological approach. The educational communication was described based on partial objectives. The first research part deals with research and description of communication structures where we were finding out what types of communication structures occur in the educational communication and what communication structures are represented the most. The second research part deals with research and description of communication (illocutionary) functions where we were interested in with what intents the teachers and pupils communicate and in what frequency. The third research part deals with humour in the educational communication. We were finding out what humour situations occur in the educational communication, i.e. what and why the teachers and pupils laugh at, who initiates the humour, who laughs at it, as to whether the humour is intentional or not, as to whether it is connected with the content of the...

Struktury veřejné komunikace na zpravodajském serveru / Structures of Public Communication at the News Server

Pilnáček, Matouš January 2016 (has links)
This thesis has an aim to bring theoretical and empirical knowledge, which can be used to improve quality of multi-agent based modelling of public opinion. In the theoretical part is introduced the analytical sociology as methodological basis and the theory of the public opinion process as substantive basis. Based on these theories is defined the aim of the empirical work: explore the stability of communication structures leading to emergence of mutual awareness of actors in the public debate. For the research are used news comments and its rating by other users from the news server iDNES.cz. The data are analyzed using social network analysis. It is revealed that a number of characteristics is applicable to multi-agent model. At the same time work brings interesting findings about the internet discussion and public communication. The main empirical finding is that despite large turn-over of discussing individuals, communication structures remain stable over time.
