The Mill is an original film and music performance piece chronicling the history of the steel industry in the United States, with specific connections to Pittsburgh. In addition to scoring the project, I designed the sound and produced the film and music and also shot and edited the film. About eighty percent of the film material is historical footage (in black and white, as well as color), while I shot the remaining portions, on location, in various areas of the "Mon Valley" region of Pittsburgh. Separated into four distinct sections, the film portrays the rise, the zenith and the eventual collapse of the steel industry in the late 1970s and the early 1980s from its epicenter in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania. <br>The musical score is composed of two elements: a live performance ensemble consisting of a clarinet in B flat, a flute and piano; and an electronic soundtrack that mostly supports the live instrumentation but also, at times, creates ambiguity between what is heard live and what is pre-recorded. I also created the ambient sound design and Foley effects. <br>The purpose of this document is to closely examine the various stages in the creative process of The Mill, to describe the inception of the idea, the implementation of technology and the overall aesthetics of a multimedia production. No / The present invention relates to compositions and methods useful in studying or modulating melanin pigmentation in the skin. Particularly, the invention relates to compositions comprising a substance capable of modulating the activity or expression of ALK6 (SEQ ID 2) or Cdc42 which in turn are capable of modulation of the transfer of melanin from melanocytes to keratinocytes and potentially from keratinocytes to keratinocytes. The invention also relates to assays for identifying such compositions, and methods of modulating skin pigmentation.

Title: Eating habits of football players and inactive students aged 16 - 17 years. Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine the eating habits of a group regularly trained football players aged 16 - 17 years and inactive students the same age and sex outside of their home. The second objective is to compare obtained data between the both groups. The work solves problem of fast food and notice č. 282/2016 Sb., which is validity on 9/20/2016 and regulates offer of school food machines and buffets. Methods: Three hundred persons participated in the testing in total. The work was used explorative method of anonym enquiry. The theoretical part was used literature review of available literature. For quantify of data was used descriptive access. For methods of data analysis were applied logic, induction and comparison. Logical and induction methods were used in conclusions. The method of analysis was used in the analysis for the individual groups. The method of comparison were compared investigated groups. It was evaluated influence of sport on children's eating habits. Results: Active approach to the sport can positively influence the minds of adolescents about food and their eating habits despite the fact that football players the most attended fast food from all of the examined files....

Turkey is on the main migratory route for many bird species although especially passerine migration is little known. The objective of this study is to document and analyze the diversity, abundances, daily and seasonal phenologies of migrating passerines at METU as well as compare seasonal phenologies with those obtained at Manyas KuScenneti(Balikesir) and Cernek(Samsun) stations. The study covers autumn 2001, spring and autumn 2002 migration seasons. Methodology is based on the capture and ringing of passerines. In the first two seasons, intermittent sampling was the rule, but in autumn 2002 the study was continuous throughout the day and the season. Totally 1,832 individuals of 60 passerine species were ringed. Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla) and Willow Warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus) were the two most common species. Blackcap dominates species composition in autumn seasons with a very high percentage (%33). Daily captures peaked in the early morning and with a smaller peak one hour before the sunset. Several waves of migrants were detected in autumn 2002, with most peaks in close correlation with those recorded at Cernek station, indicating some connection between migrant populations using both sites for stopover. Fat depositon rates showed at least Yalincak is a high quality stopover site for most migrant species since many species gained weight up to around 50% within a period of 10 days. This is the first study documenting passerine migration in Turkey, and it revealed that small wooded landscapes within less hospitable habitats provide crucial stopover habitat for many migrant passerines.
