Sagging and hogging strengthening of continuous reinforced concrete beams using CFRP sheets.

El-Refaie, S.A., Ashour, Ashraf, Garrity, S.W. 07 1900 (has links)
yes / This paper reports the testing of 11 reinforced concrete (RC) two-span beams strengthened in flexure with externally bonded carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets. The beams were classified into two groups according to the arrangement of the internal steel reinforcement. Each group included one unstrengthened control beam. The main parameters studied were the position, length, and number of CFRP layers. External strengthening using CFRP sheets was found to increase the beam load capacity. All strengthened beams exhibited less ductility compared with the unstrengthened control beams, however, and showed undesirable sudden failure modes. There was an optimum number of CFRP layers beyond which there was no further enhancement in the beam capacity. Extending the CFRP sheet length to cover the entire hogging or sagging zones did not prevent peeling failure of the CFRP sheets, which was the dominant failure mode of beams tested.

Stavební průzkum a diagnostika konstrukce / Survey and Diagnostics of Building Construction

Slavětínský, Šimon January 2017 (has links)
The subject of this final thesis is the diagnostic survey of the prefabricated hall made of framed concrete in the areal of Fatra Chropyně. The thesis contains description of construction and technological survey and diagnostic methods. The practical part contains material assessing of chosen elements of construction (beam, column, precast floor slab). It is also focused on localization of position and diameter of reinforcement. Last step is focused on quality of the concrete, particularly compressive strength and strenght class of concrete.

Leichte Deckentragwerke aus geschichteten Hochleistungsbetonen

Frenzel, Michael, Farwig, Kristina, Curbach, Manfred 21 July 2022 (has links)
Reinforced concrete floor slabs are materialand energy-intensive flexural load-bearing structures if, as it is currently the case, they are produced flat with a constant cross-sectional height and from one type of concrete. This design is very inefficient from a structural and building ecology point of view, as the reinforced concrete is only fully utilised at a few areas both in the main load-bearing direction and across the slab height. With an uniform utilisation, material and weight and thus natural resources can be saved.

Stavební průzkum a diagnostika železobetonové konstrukce / Survey and Diagnostics of Reinforced Concrete Structure

Bernard, Lukáš January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with construction and technological survey of the reinforced concrete structure. The first part of the diploma thesis deals with the properties of the reinforced concrete and with the building survey methods applied in the second part of the thesis. The second part of the diploma thesis focuses on diagnostics of existing structure. More specifically, the hardness of the concrete is tested using a Schmidt hammer and then it is further specified by testing the cores. The reinforcement in the reinforced concrete is also tested using electromagnetic indicator, ground-penetrating radar, and chopped probes. Lastly, a static assessment of the selected girder and column is conducted.

Rückseitige Verstärkung von Stahlbetonplatten unter Impaktbeanspruchung

Bracklow, Franz 09 November 2022 (has links)
