Reutilização de contêineres ISO na arquitetura

Carbonari, Luana Toralles January 2015 (has links)
Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro Tecnológico, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo, Florianópolis, 2015. / Made available in DSpace on 2015-12-08T03:09:32Z (GMT). This research aims to evaluate the projectual and constructive aspects and standard requirements of the thermal performance of reused ISO containers in architecture. The objects of study are three commercial buildings located in the south of Brazil. The methodology includes descriptive exploratory research and quantitative and qualitative analysis applied in the case studies. As research techniques, literature review of specific published documentation was carried out to identify the main characteristics of ISO containers, presenting some national and international examples of their reuse in architecture and aspects related to the project, the construction and the thermal performance of this type of building. The study also included interviews with designers and professionals responsible for the work and exploratory visits to obtain graphics and photographic records and spatial physical surveys of the buildings. To select the projects were considered the use of the buildings, the region where they are located, their bioclimatic zone and its year of construction. The first stage of the study aimed to characterize the buildings and the place on which they are located by plants and pictures. In the second stage, the projectual aspects of these buildings were evaluated, using a morphological analysis method based on concepts presented by Ching (1995). In the third stage was characterized the construction process of these projects, highlighting the changes and adjustments made in the containers. In the fourth step, was used the simplified method of calculation established by NBR 15220-2 (2005) to evaluate the thermal performance of seals and covers of the three case studies. In the fifth step the results obtained from such analyzes were correlated through comparative tables to identify the most relevant aspects of the reuse of containers. These results related to the compositional language and the diversity of uses in architecture were satisfactory. On the other hand, there were technical and constructive difficulties related to the manipulation of the containers and to carry out adequacies for improvement in thermal performance to meet the Brazilian regulatory requirements. Finally, it can be concluded, from these case studies, that the reuse of ISO containers in architecture presents a potential of use in commercial buildings, and could contribute to improve the sustainability of buildings in southern Brazil.
