Since the bracts shed, and are not present when the bolls open and the cottons harvested, it would mean cleaner cotton that would be an economic benefit to the farmers. It would also prevent textile mill workers from being exposed to the cotton dust of bract origin.

No significant differences were seen between any of the treatments.
