The study subjects were forty-two child, between 7 and 12 years old, that participated in Programa Curumim and invited me to play and/or talk with them in the free time. This research sets out to comprehend how children organize and experience their play in the "free time" on Programa Curumim, as well to compehend the relation between the researcher with children, inside this play environment. The research question that guides this study was: What objectives and subjectives conditions, allow the emergency and experience of play in Programa Curumim, particularly in the "free time"? The data collect was made through nonstructured observation, participant observation and field diary. The methodology of this work is based on qualitative reasearch principles, by which, the experience and flexiblity are elements appreciated. This research seeks to contribute to Education area with discussions about the importance of the play, the relations that emerge from those moments and elements of childhood ludic culture that are present in the educative processes built, having as an axis humanizing processes. / Esta pesquisa busca compreender o brincar, presente na cultura lúdica infantil, diante do amplo contexto que envolve as crianças com suas histórias, culturas sociais e com essas, os processos educativos que são produzidos. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram quarenta e duas crianças, entre 7 a 12 anos, que participavam do Programa Curumim que me convidaram para brincar e/ou conversar com elas no momento do horário livre. O objetivo da pesquisa foi compreender como as crianças organizam e vivenciam seus jogos e brincadeiras no “horário livre” do Programa Curumim assim como compreender a relação da pesquisadora com as crianças, inserida nesse contexto de brincadeira. A questão de pesquisa que origina esse trabalho foi: Que condições objetivas e subjetivas, possibilitam a emergência e a vivência do brincar no Programa Curumim, particularmente no “horário livre”? A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio da observação não estruturada, observação participante e diários de campo. A metodologia do trabalho se baseia nos princípios da pesquisa qualitativa, pelos quais, as experiências, as características, a diversidade e a flexibilidade são valorizadas. Essa pesquisa buscou contribuir para a área de Educação com discussões sobre a importância do brincar, da relações que emergem desse momento e elementos da cultura lúdica infantil que estão presentes diante os processos educativos construídos, tendo como eixo um processo humanizador.
