To this end, we used estimates of change in agricultural employment and income, as well as calculations of variation in trade margins. The results showed that there was a significant drop in average agricultural income per hectare of small grape producers. As for the medium and large producers was a negative but not significant, this variable. With respect to agricultural employment per hectare was found that it remained constant in the properties of small grape producers and that there is a negative but not significant, the properties of medium and large producers. However it was found that the effects of the crisis began in the region analyzed, from the marketing of production which minimized the effect of the crisis on employment in the period. In relation to mark-up showed that there was a positive change between the years 2007 and 2008, from 1.17% at the margin of the producer of grapes which caused a negative change in the same proportion in the total marketing margin of fruit. However, detailed analysis of the overall marketing shows that there was an increase of 15.68% at the edge of the retail marketing and a reduction of 13.04% on marketing margin wholesale, which shows that the crisis brought a negative impact on the wholesale sector. Thus, it follows then that the recent financial crisis has brought negative effects on the productive chain of grapes in the cities of Petrolina and Juazeiro-Ba, reflected mainly the reduction of agricultural income of small farmers and reducing mark-up of the wholesale sector. / Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o impacto econômico e social da recente crise financeira internacional na cadeia produtiva na uva de mesa na região do Submédio São Francisco. Para tanto, utilizaram-se cálculos de variação no emprego e renda agrícola, assim como cálculos de variação nas margens de comercialização. Os resultados apontaram que houve uma queda significativa na média da renda agrícola por hectare dos pequenos produtores de uva. Já para os médios e grandes produtores ocorreu um impacto negativo, porém não significativo, nessa variável. No que diz respeito ao emprego agrícola por hectare constatou-se que o mesmo permaneceu constante nas propriedades dos pequenos produtores de uva e que houve um impacto negativo, mas não significativo, nas propriedades dos médios e grandes produtores. Todavia verificou-se que os reflexos da crise iniciaram-se na região analisada, a partir da comercialização da produção o que minimizou o efeito da crise sobre o emprego no período analisado. Já em relação às margens de comercialização observou-se que houve uma variação positiva, entre os anos de 2007 e 2008, de 1,17% na margem do produtor de uva o que implicou numa variação negativa na mesma proporção na margem total de comercialização dessa fruta. No entanto, a análise detalhada da margem total de comercialização mostra que houve um aumento de 15,68% na margem de comercialização do varejo e uma redução de 13,04% na margem de comercialização do atacado, o que evidencia que a crise trouxe um impacto negativo para o setor atacadista. Dessa forma, conclui-se então que a recente crise financeira internacional trouxe efeitos negativos para a cadeia produtiva da uva de mesa, nos municípios de Petrolina-Pe e Juazeiro-Ba, refletidos, principalmente, pela redução da renda agrícola dos pequenos produtores e redução da margem de comercialização do setor atacadista.
