Alabama argillacea (Hübner) is a key pest in brazilian cotton. The objective of this study was to evaluate the oviposition preference of A. argillacea and the eggs parasitism by Trichogramma pretiosum Riley, in different phenological plant stages. The work was carried out in the Chapadão do Sul region, during the 2006/07 growing season. It was used FMT 701, FMX 966, Acala 90, NuOPAL, Delta Penta, Coodetec 409 and DeltaOPAL cotton cultivars. RCB was the experimental design adapter, with five replications. The samples were taken weekly, verifying the number of eggs and parasited eggs in ten randomized plants per plot. The results were analyzed by F test and the treatments average were compared by Tukey test ( p 0,05). Acala 90 was the most preferred by the pest, occurring major peak of oviposition at 82 days after emergence (DAE), and second peak at 110 DAE, respectively, with 3.7 to 3.3 eggs/plant. NuOPAL and FMX 966 were the less oviposited, with 2.3 eggs/plant. Acala 90 was the most oviposited, but not the most parasited. FMX 966 presented 82% of parasitism in 47 DAE and 100% of parasited eggs in 145 and 149 DAE. NuOPAL presented minor density of eggs/plant, but presented minor percentage of parasited eggs.
