Analysis of External Economic Stability of the Czech Republic

The purpose of this paper is to analyse external economic stability of the Czech Republic. The external economic stability is defined and basic theory related to especially intertemporal approach to external balances is reviewed. Special consideration is given to the transition character of the economy. The descriptive as well as econometric analysis (VAR and cointegration models) find that the Czech Republic is not dangerously imbalanced. A potential threat is found to be reresented by government budget deficits due to the problem of twin deficits.

Every chapter explains the given approach, its advantages and disadantages, position of the Czech Republic and a comparison with other countries, especially EU member countries as these are the biggest trading partner of Czechia.

The first chapter of the diploma thesis includes a theoretical introduction in the problems of international-trade policy. The second chapter describes the trends in the czech international trade within last few years. It also describes the proexport policy of the Czech republic including its institutional system in detail. The third chapter is structured very similar as the previous chapter. It covers the german international-trade and proexport policy including the appropriate german institutions. In the fourth chapter both the czech and the german system of proexport policy are compared. The thesis describes both the consistent and the different marks of the systems.

The thesis tries to create a general view of the competitiveness of the Czech Republic and to evaluate advantages and disadvantages of particular assessing concepts.

This thesis discuss the phenomenon in income taxes during last decade - the flat tax. The paper analyzes historical development of income taxes and ideas of flat tax, how it worked in history and how economists elaborated different proposals of flat tax in 20th century. The main accent has concept of american economists Robert Hall and Alvin Rabushka, which is well-developed and which was the lodestar of czech tax reform in 2008. Thesis consists of analysis of their theoretical model, its effects and consequences. The comparison of czech implementation with original concept follows on some model examples of czech taxpayers. That illustrates how the implementation worked out.

This thesis deals with the analysis of interbank payment systems in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. The paper describes the fundamental characteristics of payment systems, including their division by various aspects. The thesis contains an overview of legislation affecting the operation of payment systems in the European Union in both analyzed countries. Furthermore, an analysis of interbank payment systems in the Czech Republic and the Netherlandsis performed, while in the Netherlands, there are two systems, large-value system TARGET2-NL and retail system Equens, the Czech Republic has only CERTIS system that performs both large-value and retail transactions. In the last part of the thesis there is detailed analysis of statistical information on these payment systems for the period from 2005 to 2009.

This thesis is focused on consumer behavior of Czech people in relation to the product which has a very long tradition in Czech Republic and is for this country typical. In the beer consumption Czech Republic is often on the top of the list in the world comparison and that is why this thesis is trying to find out what are the factors specific for Czechs that are causing this. It is also focusing on other differences between Czechs, Germans and Austrians and find out, if these differences are important from marketing point of view. Conclusions of this thesis should be useful for psychologist intrested in alcohol related problems and for companies producing or importing beer products from and into Czech Republic, Germany and Austria, to which it may provide useful information for creating effective marketing campaign.

The subject of this diploma thesis was to identify changes in a visit rate of spas in Czech Republic that have been caused mainly after adoption of a new Indication list in 2012. Its impacts were examined by comparison and analysis between two time periods, by year 2013 and from year 2013. Essential indicators of spas, such as trend of treatment days, numbers of clients, accommodation capacity and staffing, were examined in more detail in the diploma thesis. Based on the results and findings were then estimated further trends and development of spas in Czech Republic.
