Evaluation of Low-Cost Water Quality Measurement SystemJiang, Meng January 2015 (has links)
Water is a very important element in our daily life, being able to check the water quality by ourselves would be a useful project to improve our life quality. My idea is to create something cheap and easy to examine the water quality and test it to see if it is capable for outdoor using as well. In this project I chose a DS18B20 as a temperature sensor. To get a system which can work as a water pump I chose an L298P as a motor driver board to support the electric motor, a Hall flow meter to get the flow and quantity, and a Water sensor to get the conductivity. With the Arduino and the Visual Studio user interface program, the system can extract the data that we want. The result of the measurement shows it is possible to analyse the water quality by comparing the conductivity of the known liquid to a test sample in a controlled environment. The system shows great promise of being a cheaper and easier system but still needs to improve accuracy, by reducing outside influence (like temperature), thereby enabling the system to work in more harsh environments.

Měření teploty uvnitř PC / Measuring temperature inside PCRataj, Tomáš January 2008 (has links)
This master’s thesis deals with measuring temperature inside personal computer. The main goal of this work is to develop tool which is able to measure temperatures in several places, display a store the values. Theoretical section is concentrated on selection of temperature sensor, that have suitable interface for microcontrollers and has sufficient accuracy for this application. In next part there is complete hardware and software design of instrument. Software solution is based on real-time operating system. Device is projected as a battery-operated compact tool. With created application for personal computer, measured data can be downloaded through USB and displayed in graphic format.

Hardware a software inteligentního spotřebiče / Hardware and software of a smart home applianceBlaha, Vít January 2015 (has links)
Nowadays, the interest in smart appliances, which enable consumption reduction or consumption shifting approach, grows up. Such appliances can react to actual situation in the distributional network. From the energy distributor point of view, the activity of these appliances brings improvement of stability in the distribution network, while for the end customer there is possibility of the saving money. This thesis describes a transformation of standard fridge to smart fridge controlled by microcomputer Raspberry Pi. The smart fridge can communicate with supervisor system and according to its instructions change its behavior (temperature set point). The appliance can be manually controlled by a group of buttons, while its state can be visualized on the alphanumeric display. Last but not least way to control the appliance is through a web interface. The thesis also describes design of printed circuit board (PCB), which is designed for connection of all necessary sensors and actuators to Raspberry Pi. Software equipment is designed in the C++ program language.

Mikroprocesorové řízení ohřevu bazénu se slunečními kolektory / Microprocessor control of heating of swimming pool with solar collectorKahánek, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
This thesis is pointed on draft of controller unit, used for control of swimming pool with solar collectors. Controller detect water temperature in a pool and collerctor. With these values controller control pump activation and 3-way valve position. Operator can set all settings in user interface which are needed for a right working. Controller unit attempt minimize energy used for a pump while working.

Malá testovací teplotní komora / Small Temperature Test ChamberWolfshörndl, Robert January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of a small temperature test chamber. The first chapter is a study of temperature sensors suitable for realization of temperature chambers. The conclusion of this chapter is devoted to digital temperature sensor DS18B20. The second chapter deals with the principles and basic parameters of Peltier cells. In the third chapter design of individual electronic components of the temperature chamber is realized (circuit diagrams and PCBs), including a description of basic features of the microcontroller firmware. The fourth chapter is devoted to a description of the basic properties of the application software and a description of the communication protocol. The last two chapters deal with the construction of the temperature chamber and the results of final functional test.

Měření teploty ve fotovoltaických systémech / Measuring temperature in the photovoltaic systemsVičar, Pavel January 2010 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with covers design and realisation of device for multipoint temperature measuring in fotovoltaic systems. As a controlling microcomputer is used Atmel ATMega128L, temperature sensors are realised by DS18S20 digital thermometers, connected via 1-wire bus. System can read temperature from x temperature sensors, includes memory for measured data, real time clock and display with buttons for basic user control. Temperatures are measured periodically, values are stored into internal memory and showed on display.Measured data can also be transferred via seriál bus to clinent PC. Device is projected as a battery-operated compact tool. The final realization is made with respect to minimal system requirements and to possible future extensibility for wider usage spectrum.

Elektronický monitorovací systém pro motorová vozidla / Electronic monitoring system for motor vehiclesPospíšil, Martin January 2012 (has links)
This thesis is about construction of a monitoring unit for motor vehicles. The unit is equipped with microcontroller, graphical LCD for displaying all measured values, GPS module and SD card slot. For measuremet of motor RPM, various methods of connecting to the motor are supported. Temperature is measured with few DS18B20 sensors, picking up engine temp, outsider and inside temp. GPS module is for measuring speed and height above MSL. All measured values can be recorded on SD card for future analysis on PC.
