Municipal Solid Waste Collection Route Optimization Using Geospatial Techniques: A Case Study of Two Metropolitan Cities of Pakistan

Hina, Syeda January 2016 (has links)
The population growth in many urban cities and its activities in developing countries have resulted in an increased solid waste generation rate and waste management has become a global environmental issue. Routing of solid waste collection vehicles in developing countries like Pakistan poses a challenging task. In the process of solid waste management, collection and transportation play a leading role in waste collection and disposal, in which collection activities contributed the most to total cost for solid waste collection activities. Therefore, this study describes an attempt to design and develop an appropriate collection, transportation and disposal plan for the twin cities of Pakistan by using Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) techniques to determine the minimum cost/distance/time efficient collection paths for the transportation of the solid wastes to the landfill sites. In addition to this, identification of solid waste disposal sites and appropriately managing them is a challenging task to many developing countries and Pakistan is no exception to that. The existing landfill sites for the twin cities are not technically viable and environmentally acceptable and are thus damaging to the environment due to their location and the type of waste dumped. Therefore, the second aim of our study was to find out the suitable landfill sites for the twin cities and the study employed Multi-Criteria Evaluation (MCE) methods to combine necessary factors considered for landfill site selection for the twin cities. Hence, our present study has proved that GIS is a tool that can be used in integration with other techniques such as MCE for a identifying new landfill sites and it can help decision makers deal with real-world developmental and management issues. Finally, the study has developed a Wed-Based Decision Support System (DSS) via Application Programming Interface (API) which will help decision-makers to search for cost-effective alternatives and it can be operated by people who don’t have knowledge of GIS. The proposed study can be used as a decision support tool by the municipalities of the twin cities for efficient management and transportation of solid wastes to landfill sites, managing work schedules for workers, etc.

Bezdrátová síť snímačů pro měření sacího potenciálu půdy / Wireless sensors network for measurement of soil water potential

Rášo, Peter January 2011 (has links)

Výzkum spolehlivosti statických elektroměrů / Research of Static Electricity Meters Reliability

Voborník, Petr January 2013 (has links)
This work deals with setting of dependability of static electricity meters. The first two chapters deal about electricity meters and dependability in general than there are introduced three possible ways for getting dependability parameters. The first methode is data collection from the field. The second methode is reliability prediction from component's reliability. The third methode is aging life tests. Conclusion contains evaluation of results and highligting of importance for practical usage.

Měřič elektrické energie s podporou automatického dálkového sběru / Electric energy meter with support of automatic remote acquisition

Skala, Milan January 2013 (has links)
This master’s thesis deals with design and implementation of electric energy meter with support of automatic remote data collection. For the collecting of measured data is used narrowband PLC technology. The theoretical part describes the basic properties and standards of narrowband PLC technology, such as types of coupling circuits, modulations, frequency bands and interference problems. In the practical part, there is description of selected parts, such as control circuit power meter, modem, microcontroller and UART to USB converter. There are further described basic properties of narrowband PLC modem ST7570 by STMicroelectronics. The final chapter, implementation of the device, deals with designs of circuit PLC modem ST7570, power meter ADE7753 and converter USB to UART CP2102.

Systém anonymního sběru dat / System of anonymous data collection

Troják, David January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with contemporary approaches that provide higher protection of privacy of users. It focuses mainly on a group signature. In the practical part of this thesis I designed and implemented PS that is enable to gather information with the help of signal of a mobile device. The application was designed in accordance with fundamental cryptographic requirements such as the authenticity and the integrity of transmitted data. The anonymity of users is guaranteed through an application layer (the group signature) as well as through a network layer (Tor).

Systém pro analýzu použitelnosti softwaru / Software Tool for Usability Testing

Kubík, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
This work is concerned with an implementation of a software framework for usability testing. This extensive network framework and its protocol allow for integration of libraries for data collection from the basic peripherals like mouse, keyboard, camera, etc. If the protocol rules are implemented, these libraries can be platform independent. The client-server architecture allows for management of all collected data in a central database. The data in this database can be queried for evaluating the usability of applications.

Elektronický systém pro podporu provádění klinických studií s možností zpracování dat pomocí umělé inteligence / Electronic clinical study management system with artificial intelligence-based data processing capabilities

Mužný, Miroslav January 2021 (has links)
An increasing amount of data are collected through wearable devices during ambulatory, and long-term monitoring of biological signals, adoption of persuasive technology and dynamics of clinical trials information sharing - all of that changes the possible clinical intervention. Moreover, more and more smartphone apps are hitting the market as they become a tool in daily life for many people around the globe. All of these applications are generating a tremendous amount of data, that is difficult to process using traditional methods, and asks for engagement of advanced methods of data processing. For recruiting patients, this calls for a shift from traditional methods of engaging patients to modern communication platforms such as social media, that are providing easy access to up- to-date information on an everyday basis. These factors make the clinical study progression demanding, in terms of unified participant management and processing of connected digital resources. Some clinical trials put a strong accent on remote sensing data and patient engagement through their smartphones. To facilitate this, a direct participant messaging, where the researchers give support, guidance and troubleshooting on a personal level using already adopted communication channels, needs to be implemented. Since the...
