The aim of the present work is to assess the extent to which the degree of specialization or diversification externalities may affect the innovative performance in a particular microregion. Additionally, the influence of other regional factors on the innovative output is examined, such as regional R&D capacity, schooling of local population and the innovative tradition of the microregion. The analysis is based on a database of 63 microregions of the state of São Paulo from 1996 to 2003 that was merged by micro-data mainly from Yearly Industrial Survey and Brazilian Patent Office. These data were analyzed by means of Exploratory Analysis of Spatial Data and panel data regression models with spatial dependence. Both techniques reveal the spatial and temporal evolution of the regional innovation system of the state of São Paulo. The main result shows that microregion’s innovative performance seems to be affected mainly by the specialization externalities rather than diversification externalities. Other results emphasize the positive influence played by the schooling of local population, the technological knwoledge spillovers, and the innovative tradition of the microregion on its innovative output.

Statistical models for an MTPL portfolio / Statistical models for an MTPL portfolioPirozhkova, Daria January 2017 (has links)
In this thesis, we consider several statistical techniques applicable to claim frequency models of an MTPL portfolio with a focus on overdispersion. The practical part of the work is focused on the application and comparison of the models on real data represented by an MTPL portfolio. The comparison is presented by the results of goodness-of-fit measures. Furthermore, the predictive power of selected models is tested for the given dataset, using the simulation method. Hence, this thesis provides a combination of the analysis of goodness-of-fit results and the predictive power of the models.

Contribution à la définition d’un modèle d’ingénierie concourante pour la mise en oeuvre des projets d’infrastructures linéaires urbaines : prise en compte des interactions entre enjeux, acteurs, échelles et objets / Contribution to the definition of a concurrent engineering model for the implementation on urban linear infrastructure projects : taking into account the interactions between issues, stakeholders, scales and objectsTolmer, Charles-Edouard 07 November 2016 (has links)
Elle participe également à la numérisation du secteur de la construction / However, the information management within an infrastructure project (road, rail, airport and other civil engineering works) also requires the use of specific methodologies and concepts like the concepts of ”level of detail” , ”level of development” or ”level of abstraction”. They are used to describe the relevant information that have to be exchanged between stakeholders, according to the modeling objectives in order to meet the project requirements. In the specific context of infrastructure projects, these tools are poorly defined, insufficient and sometimes bring to contradictory models. With a view to progress towards concurrent engineering design, our research is a contribution in two parts. Based on the principles of systems engineering, the first part is about to provide a methodology for requirements and relevant information identification to respond and control this response. The second part describes the project conceptual data model : it deals with the structure of the objects that model in connection with the requirements identification. This proposal is accompanied by a redefinition of several types of existing levels (detail, development, information, abstraction, etc.). These inputs are tested on a project of urban freeway in an industrial context. The exchange of information is at the center of BIM. The accuracy and quality of exchanged information participate in both technical and managerial project success. Our proposed methodology allows to change practices and the vision that the construction sector looks forward to the information it creates. It also participates in the digitalization of the construction sector

Návrh integrovaného systému pro podporu marketingového řízení produktového portfolia / Designing integrated information system for product portfolio management supportŠebelík, Ondřej January 2014 (has links)
Information is the currency of our world. Making right decisions requires having reliable, comprehensive and thorough information still at hand. The tools that can provide it? Information systems. However, the purpose of today's information systems is more than to just collect and store information: they need to integrate numerous data sources (both internal and external), identify essential pieces of information and set them apart from the rest, and provide the people relying on them a clear picture of the situation. In short: they should offer unified, user-friendly, well-structured and comprehensive view of business reality. This paper focuses on the first stage of an information system design. Concerned primarily with the business analytical phases of an IT project, it presents an insight into the process of business reality exploration and description through conceptual data model and architecture vision articulation.

Geografické informační systémy v dopravě / Geographics Information Systems in TransportationSouček, Václav Unknown Date (has links)
The work is focused on the issues associated with the use of geographical information systems in transport. Of the various types of transport was chosen railway transport for its great potential particularly in the field of freight transport, but also because it is a relatively environmentally friendly. This fact is also well known to the leaders of the European Union, who are engaged in the field of transportation. The European Commission in its documents (green and white papers) gives accent on the development of railway transportation and combined transportation, because this is the path to secure the sustainable development of transport. In the course of this study the current state of information systems several problems were discovered. One problem is the fragmentation of the partial information systems and the associated strong administrative burden. This situation stems both from the incomplete legislative framework, but also from the lack of the concept and awareness of the managerial positions. This work deals with other selected issues. The first is the area of designing the data model topology track that satisfies the requirements set out in legislation, both European and national level. The data model was designed with regard to a sufficient degree of variability. The work contains a section dedicated to the implementation of the data model and solution design of problems associated with visualization arcs. Another area is the collection of geographic data. Data collection is one of the key tasks in the implementation and maintenance of the information system. The acquisition of the geographical data can be lengthy and costly. We therefore suggest how to use inertial measurement in acquisition of topological data. This method could speed up the entire process of data capturing with sufficient precision and reduce the costs to the acceptable range.

Analytic Extensions to the Data Model for Management Analytics and Decision Support in the Big Data EnvironmentAkpakpan, Nsikak Etim 01 January 2018 (has links)
From 2006 to 2016, an estimated average of 50% of big data analytics and decision support projects failed to deliver acceptable and actionable outputs to business users. The resulting management inefficiency came with high cost, and wasted investments estimated at $2.7 trillion in 2016 for companies in the United States. The purpose of this quantitative descriptive study was to examine the data model of a typical data analytics project in a big data environment for opportunities to improve the information created for management problem-solving. The research questions focused on finding artifacts within enterprise data to model key business scenarios for management action. The foundations of the study were information and decision sciences theories, especially information entropy and high-dimensional utility theories. The design-based research in a nonexperimental format was used to examine the data model for the functional forms that mapped the available data to the conceptual formulation of the management problem by combining ontology learning, data engineering, and analytic formulation methodologies. Semantic, symbolic, and dimensional extensions emerged as key functional forms of analytic extension of the data model. The data-modeling approach was applied to 15-terabyte secondary data set from a multinational medical product distribution company with profit growth problem. The extended data model simplified the composition of acceptable analytic insights, the derivation of business solutions, and the design of programs to address the ill-defined management problem. The implication for positive social change was the potential for overall improvement in management efficiency and increasing participation in advocacy and sponsorship of social initiatives.
