However, the success of this therapy is closely linked to the electric field distribution, which in turn depends on characteristics such as type, number, arrangement and distance between electrodes, as well as the tissues electrical resistivity. This study has the aim to develop a software application for the positioning optimization of the main types of needle electrodes configurations for the application of electrochemotherapy. In the construction of the software application, the resources provided by MATLAB? were used. The mathematical models and analytical calculations used in ?orovi? (2010) were incorporated in the program to calculate the electric field distribution between electrodes, as well as in the region of interest. According to this methodology, the intensity and electric field distribution generated by the various electrode arrangements are estimated by the Laplace Equation, considering the electric potential as a sum of the multipole of all the electrodes in a homogeneous medium. An optimization function was created to orientate the electrochemotherapy application, and the best option available in all configurations generated by the distance variations between electrodes and positioning orientations was determined. For its evaluation, the ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 14598-6 (2004) roadmap and the quality model described in ISO/IEC 25010 (2010) were used. The validation of the software application, named ApOtEl, was performed by 10 health professionals (2 veterinarians, 3 nurses and 5 physicians). In the evaluation of the professionals, the characteristics functional adequacy, reliability and performance efficiency obtained 100% of positive answers. Usability was approved by 98.18% of the participants, compatibility by 85.71%, and security by 60%. ApOtEl was approved with more than 80% in all categories, except safety. However, such outcome was already expected, since the application does not present any kind of sensitive data and therefore was not designed with a password or any type of security lock. The present study proved that ApOtEl meets the needs of electrochemotherapy application for superficial cutaneous tumors, providing a practical and accessible assistance tool that can be used both for the planning of applications with this technique and for personnel training. / A eletroquimioterapia ? uma t?cnica para o tratamento local de tumores, baseada na aplica??o de pulsos el?tricos curtos e intensos em um tecido alvo, em conjunto com f?rmacos, de forma a potencializar seu efeito. Entretanto, o sucesso desta terapia est? intimamente ligado ? distribui??o do campo el?trico, que por sua vez, depende de caracter?sticas tais como o tipo de eletrodos utilizados, a quantidade, o arranjo e a dist?ncia entre os mesmos, bem como pela resistividade el?trica dos tecidos envolvidos. Este trabalho teve como objetivo desenvolver um software de aplica??o para a otimiza??o do posicionamento dos principais tipos de configura??o de eletrodos de agulha mais comuns para a aplica??o da eletroquimioterapia. Na constru??o do software de aplica??o, foram utilizados os recursos fornecidos pelo software MATLAB?. Os modelos matem?ticos e c?lculos anal?ticos, utilizados em ?orovi? (2010) foram incorporados no programa para o c?lculo da distribui??o do campo el?trico entre os eletrodos, bem como na regi?o de interesse. De acordo com esta metodologia, a intensidade e distribui??o do campo el?trico gerado atrav?s das diversas disposi??es dos eletrodos s?o estimadas pela resolu??o da Equa??o de Laplace, considerando o potencial el?trico como uma soma dos multipolos de todos os eletrodos, em um meio homog?neo. Foi criada uma fun??o de otimiza??o para orientar a aplica??o da eletroquimioterapia, que determina a melhor op??o dispon?vel entre todas as configura??es geradas pela varia??o das dist?ncias entre os eletrodos e orienta??es. Para avalia??o do aplicativo, denominado ApOtEl, utilizaram-se o roteiro da ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 14598-6 (2004) e o modelo de qualidade descrito na norma ISO/IEC 25010 (2010). A valida??o foi realizada por 10 profissionais da ?rea da sa?de (2 veterin?rios, 3 enfermeiros e 5 m?dicos). Na avalia??o dos profissionais, as caracter?sticas adequa??o funcional, confiabilidade e efici?ncia de desempenho obtiveram 100% das respostas de acordo. A usabilidade foi aprovada por 98,18% dos participantes, a compatibilidade por 85,71% e a seguran?a por 60%. O ApOtEl foi aprovado em mais de 80% das respostas em todas as categorias avaliadas, com exce??o da seguran?a. Entretanto, tal resultado j? era esperado, visto que o aplicativo n?o apresenta nenhum tipo de dado sigiloso e, portanto, n?o foi projetado com senha de acesso ou qualquer tipo de bloqueio. O presente estudo comprovou que o aplicativo ApOtEl atende as necessidades de um software de aplica??o para eletroquimioterapia de tumores cut?neos superficiais, proporcionando uma ferramenta de aux?lio pr?tica e acess?vel, podendo ser utilizada tanto para o planejamento de aplica??es da t?cnica, como para o treinamento de pessoal.
