Design and Validation of Configurable Filter for JAS 39 Gripen Mission Planning DataFlodin, Per January 2009 (has links)

Saab Aerosystems, a part of Saab AB, has the overall responsibility for the development of the fourth generation fighter aircraft JAS 39 Gripen. When planning a mission for one or more aircrafts, a computer program called Mission Support System is used. Some of the data from the planning is then transferred to the actual aircraft. Today there are some unwanted restrictions in the planning software. One of these restrictions is about the fact that a number of parameters that controls the output from a planned mission are not configurable runtime, i.e. a reinstallation at customers location is needed to change this. The main purpose of this thesis was to propose a new design and a new framework that solves the inflexibility described above. The design should also be validated by a test implementation. A number of different designs were proposed and four of these were selected to be candidates for being implemented. An important tool used when developing the designs was the theory of design patterns. To choose one of the four a ranking system, based on both measurable metrics and non-measurable experience, was used. One design was selected to be the best and after implementing of the design it was considered to be valid. Future work can consist of rewriting all modules in the software to use the new framework.

The system has been streamlined and integrated with existing application so that each user can get a graphical presentation in real time on what has been sent to and from the units. The user interface and communication has been designed to be robust, user friendly, secure and offer functionality that yields the users of the system added value. The system is flexible from the design perspective and is low maintenance.

The Effect Of Design Patterns On Object-oriented Metrics And Solfware Error-pronenessAydinoz, Baris 01 September 2006 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis study investigates the connection between design patterns, OO metrics and
software error-proneness. The literature on OO metrics, design patterns and software
error-proneness is reviewed. Different software projects and synthetic source codes
have been analyzed to verify this connection.

The Effect Of Software Design Patterns On Object-oriented Software Quality And MaintainabilityTurk, Tuna 01 September 2009 (has links) (PDF)
This study investigates the connection between design patterns, object oriented (OO) quality metrics and software maintainability. The literature on OO metrics, design patterns and software maintainability are reviewed, the relation between OO metrics and software maintainability is investigated, and then, in terms of obtained maintainability indicator metrics, the maintainability change of an application due to usage of design patterns is observed.

Effects Of Parallel Programming Design Patterns On The Performance Of Multi-core Processor Based Real Time Embedded SystemsKekec, Burak 01 June 2010 (has links) (PDF)
Increasing usage of multi-core processors has led to their use in real time embedded systems (RTES). This entails high performance requirements which may not be easily met when software development follows traditional techniques long used for single processor systems. In this study, parallel programming design patterns especially developed and reported in the literature will be used to improve RTES implementations on multi-core systems. Specific performance parameters will be selected for assessment, and performance of traditionally developed software will be compared with that of software developed using parallel programming patterns.

Μοντελοποίηση εφαρμογών Παγκόσμιου Ιστού μέσω τεχνικών αντίστροφης μηχανίκευσης / Modeling web applications through reverse engineering techniquesΜποβίλας, Κώστας 24 November 2014 (has links)
The main goal of this thesis is to study reverse engineering methods and techniques applied to web applications and to evaluate these methods extracting useful conclusions about the present and the future directions of this research area. At start, we study the various modeling methods that have been proposed, as well as the design patterns that have been defined and the reverse engineering methods that have been developed. Then, we present the basic concepts of reverse engineering and some of the methods that have been developed from the research community. Finally, we state our conclusions extracted from the evaluation of the techniques.
