Web user requirements : a support framework for students

Bingham, Andrew January 2012 (has links)
This thesis proposes a framework to support the inexperienced student user to undertake the elicitation, analysis and specification of web user requirements. It is designed to support the student during web projects and to encourage more rigorous analysis by documenting web user requirements before the student commences design and implementation. The framework comprises a process meta-model, object model, rules model, support and guidance model, consistency, completeness and correctness model, learning model, student data model and a requirements specification model. The framework was transformed into an automated Computer Aided Web Environment (CAWE) tool and tested on a number of web modules within a Higher Education Institute (HEI). The research programme adopts the Canonical Action Research (CAR) methodology, which involves one or more iterations of diagnosing, action planning, action taking, evaluating and specifying what has been learned through reflection and allows interventions to take place within the next research cycle. Students were active participants in the research programme and contributed to the development of the intervention with continuous feedback. Analysis of usage data generated by the CAWE tool provided a valuable insight into how the framework and support mechanism was used by the students. Main contributions include the extension of knowledge and understanding of Web User Requirements in Web Engineering. Contribution is made to the curriculum of Web Engineering by identifying gaps in knowledge and understanding regarding the lack of analysis techniques used by the student. ii Contribution is also made to Web and User Requirements Engineering by proposing, implementing and evaluating a range of novel methods and frameworks through student collaboration.

We are concerning about mobile devices limitations, especially its reduced screen dimension that complicates the presentation and manipulation of information. The research was based on a collaborative game of questions and answers entitled Warming Up The Brain. The research method used was the action-research. We performed two cycles of research. In the first cycle, we applied visualization techniques of awareness information in a collaborative game, such as peripheral view, telepointers, list of participants, representative icons/avatars, and colors. In the second cycle, were applied filtering techniques of awareness information, considering user context information, such as information about the group, screen size, device orientation, and individual preferences. Based on the filtering techniques it was possible to build an WYSIWIS context-aware interface (What You See Is What I See) interface. Thus, the collaborative game automatically adjusts the content displayed on the screen based on contextual information - automatic reconfiguration. The game was used by 41 students from three different groups. To evaluate visualization and filtering of awareness information, we defined a set of 24 requirements for mobile groupware development. Based on this set of requirements, it is possible to evaluate the usability of techniques for visualization and filtering of awareness information in four main aspects: the presentation of the awareness information, performance of collaborative tasks, users needs, and mobile devices features. A pesquisa foi fundamentada adaptando o jogo colaborativo de perguntas e respostas intitulado Warming Up The Brain.

Manažerské kompetence ve vybraném podniku / Managerial Competencies in the Particular Company

RYCHTÁŘOVÁ, Olga January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with managerial competencies in one particular company. The thesis is divided into two parts, the practical and the theoretical one. The theoretical part explains basic notions concerning especially competencies in connection with management. In the practical part, analysis of key managerial competencies of the company is carried out. The terrain data collection is drafted on the basis of quantitative research strategy. The aim of the thesis is to characterize key managerial competencies in the particular company and following carrying out of a detail analysis of these key competences at individual managers. In my work, I recommend a proposal of possible competency development, the state emerged as undesirable; in the form of formal education, informal education or in the form of working experience.

Workflows in der energieorientierten Produktentwicklung

Reichel, Thomas 11 November 2013 (has links)
