This thesis, objectived to analyze the discursive processes of production of meaning of the irony and the humor in contesting speech of the stories in the Mafalda comic. For this, we start from theoretical principles of French Discourse Analysis (AD). The discursive corpus of this research comprises samples of the stories in the Mafalda comic Joaquín Salvador Lavado, Quino. The Mafalda comic show the humor present in the comic and the irony, to display various controversial matter, portraying political, social and cultural problems of the epoch which are crossed by a contestatory. We can claim, through analisys of the stories in the Mafalda comic, that the humor and the irony take effect of contestatory meaning in the speech that make the character Mafalda. And it was in this category that was possible signal right area of freedom, maneuver, for the subject of discourse. The production conditions go through the humor and the irony, as well as social contexts in which the character emerges. Para isso, partimos de pressupostos teóricos da Análise do Discurso de linha francesa (AD). O corpus discursivo desta investigação compreende parte das histórias em quadrinhos da Mafalda de Joaquín Salvador Lavado, Quino. As tirinhas da Mafalda mostram o humor, presente no cômico e na ironia, para exibir diversas questões polêmicas, retratar problemas políticos, sociais e culturais da época que são atravessadas por um discurso contestatório. Pode-se afirmar, através da análise das tirinhas da Mafalda, que o humor e a ironia produzem efeitos de sentido contestatório no discurso que constitui a personagem Mafalda. E foi nessa categoria que foi possível sinalizar certo espaço de liberdade, de manobra, de crítica e contestação, para o sujeito do discurso. As condições de produção do discurso contestatório atravessam o humor e a ironia, assim como os contextos sociais nos quais a personagem emerge. Dessa forma, o discurso contestatório traz a marca do social, do humor e da ironia.
