Bien que le xxe siècle fût faste pour la monarchie britannique, la fin de siècle est le théâtre de révélations embarrassantes et de nombreux troubles matrimoniaux au sein de la Famille royale. L'appui à la monarchie semble précaire et l'institution doit prendre un nouveau tournant. Le mémoire vise à cerner les modalités d'appui à l'institution au sortir de ces années troubles, soit de 2000 à 2010. La démonstration s'articule autour d'événements marquants du début du siècle (jubilé d'or de la Reine, décès de la Reine Mère, remariage du Prince Charles, etc.) et valide diverses théories quant à l'appui des Britanniques à la monarchie. Dans le cadre du mémoire, trois théories sont ainsi validées à divers degrés : la Imperial/Ceremonial Monarchy (Cannadine et Zeigler), la Family Monarchy (Bagehot) et la Welfare Monarchy (Proshaska).

La monarchia britannica – soprattutto quando viene considerata nella sua evo-luzione istituzionale contemporanea – rappresenta un oggetto di studio poco affermato sia in Italia sia, sorprendentemente, nei paesi di stampo anglosassone;il presente studio si pone l'obiettivo di analizzare la figura di Elizabeth II dal punto di vista dello svolgimento dell’attività di rappresentanza all’estero e nei paesi membri del Commonwealth durante il primo ventennio del suo lunghissimo regno. L’attività pubblica della Regina – i viaggi e le visite che compie e riceve ogni anno all’estero su suggerimento del Governo e con l’aiuto organizzativo del Foreign Office e nei paesi del Commonwealth su invito dei paesi stessi – rappresenta, infatti, una lente di ingrandimento particolarmente significativa e mai utilizzata prima per l’analisi della Monarchia. / This research project wants to give a meaningful account of the role of the Queen in the foreign policy from the beginning of Her Majesty's reign in 1952 to 1972 (date of the United Kingdom's entry in the European Community). The shape of the Monarchy has often been outlined describing Her Majesty's biographical events, but in this way a research following an institutional point of view has always been left out. Instead, this type of research could enable to understand with more clarity the real contribution of the Crown in the British constitutional system. The necessity to investigate the role of the Queen does not come only from the absence of adequate and comprehensive studies about it, but derives from the belief that Elizabeth II — despite her full respect of the constitutional practices — had effectively guided Her realms through those difficult years which have seen the dismantlement of the Empire, the birth of the New Commonwealth, the tortuous path towards the European integration and the terrible and dangerous tensions caused by the Cold War. The role of Her Majesty as Head of State and as Head of the Commonwealth, as well the tenacious practice of the three fundamental rights enunciated by Bagehot — the right to be consulted, the right to encourage, the right to warn —, make this research more than motivated. Moreover, the particular attention dedicated to the trips and the visits of the Queen shows that these moments have more than a symbolical value in the international relations. As the nature of this project is purely innovative, this research has been carried out using mainly archives sources.

Современный мир характеризуется широким распространением средств массовой информации по всему земному шару. Изучение речевых текстов является важным компонентом понимания сути публичных выступлений и улучшения навыков коммуникации. Лингвистический анализ, который используется для изучения речевых текстов, является одним из важных подходов. Актуальность данной работы заключается в предоставлении читателям понимания того, как лингвистический анализ может быть использован для изучения публичной речи и как он может помочь лидерам и людям в целом достигать своих целей при публичном выступлении. В первой главе заложена теоретическая основа исследования: Изучается понятие публичных речей, рассматриваются функции и виды публичных речей, анализируются связи между публичными речами и средствами массовой информации. Вторая глава посвящена практическим аспектам анализа: Статья будет содержать подробный анализ стиля, лексических и синтаксических средств выражения, а также художественных элементов, присутствующих в данной речи. Такой анализ позволит представить читателям основные ключевые моменты речи, оценить ее эффективность и увидеть, какие методы и техники использовались для достижения целей выступления. Анализ рождественской речи королевы Елизаветы II предоставляет возможность понять, какие техники и методы используются в профессиональной публичной речи на высшем уровне. Надеемся, что данная работа будет полезной для всех, кто интересуется ораторским искусством, коммуникацией и желает совершенствоваться в этой области. / The modern world is characterized by the widespread use of mass media around the globe. The study of speech texts is an important component of understanding the essence of public speaking and improving communication skills. Linguistic analysis, which is used to study speech texts, is one of the important approaches. The relevance of this work lies in providing readers with an understanding of how linguistic analysis can be used to study public speech and how it can help leaders and people in general achieve their goals in public speaking. The first chapter lays the theoretical basis of the study: The concept of public speeches is studied, the functions and types of public speeches are considered, the links between public speeches and the media are analyzed. The second chapter is devoted to the practical aspects of the analysis: The article will contain a detailed analysis of the style, lexical and syntactic means of expression, as well as the artistic elements present in this speech. Such an analysis will allow readers to present the main key points of the speech, evaluate its effectiveness and see what methods and techniques were used to achieve the goals of the speech. The analysis of the Christmas speech of Queen Elizabeth II provides an opportunity to understand what techniques and methods are used in professional public speech at the highest level. We hope that this work will be useful for everyone who is interested in oratory, communication and wants to improve in this area.

In this thesis the author analyses the changes in the view of the British Royal Family in general public during the 20th century. Given the extensiveness of the topic, the author focuses on two crisis situations - so called "Simpson Affair" - the abdication of King Edward VIII in 1936 and his relationship with divorced American Wallis Simpson, and so called "Annus Horribilis" - the divorce of the successor to the throne prince Charles and princess Diana Spencer. The author analyses changes in perception of the role of British Royal Family in life of British nation and its role within British general public. Author works with unpublished sources (mainly from the archive materials gathered from the sources of the Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the National Archives in London - Kew, with published sources and extensive specialized literature mostly from British provenience.
