In this paper, we are going to study the relations between France, the European Unionand the Eurozone. The involvements of France in the European Union and the Eurozone aswell as the effects of the European evolutions in France. As France has played many roles indifferent areas for the European Union, the relations are social, political, juridical andobviously economic. We cannot analyse these relations without interest in the historicalpart, which shows the chronological involvements of France in the EU, from the firstagreement in 1951 to the Treaty of Lisbon in December 2009. Beside this, our analyse needsalso to focus on the European Union as several institutions; as well as the Eurozone and itseconomic consequences in Europe and in France. To do so, we are going to raise monetaryand institutional questions and develop the most important European stakes as theenlargements, the European budget, the common policies and the European institutions.France can be considered as a founding father of the European Union, and in spite ofsome difficulties; both France and the European Union have had positive influences on eachother and the European Union could not have grown in this way without France.

Democratic Deficit in the EU : Towards Parliamentary Democracy?!Nadiradze, Rusudan January 2011 (has links)
Nowadays, the western societies are based on parliamentary democracy. Therefore, weak legislative power of the European Parliament is alleged for the democratic deficit in the EU. How it can be possible that the parliamentary democracy which is practiced on the national level can be achieved beyond the nation-states without diminishing the democracy at the nation-states? If not, how legitimacy can be obtained so that the continued existence and expansion of the EU should be justified? Since expectations for democratization of the EU are still unmet, finding answers to the actual questions is a great appeal. The thesis will explore the fundamental debates and arguments contributing to the democracy in the EU through the parliaments. I will try to reflect to the different ways of thinking and the prospects of establishing parliamentary democracy beyond the nation states.

Study of Russia's policy with respect to the European UnionAn, Hsiao-yi 17 July 2008 (has links)
Russia has abundant natural resources, and also has the broadest land distribution in the world. Geographically Russia has the benefit in transportation with the European Union, and also has high complementarities in economics and trade fields. Therefore, both sides maintain a close cooperation. Under the European Union expansionist policy, not only have Russia and European Union further regional cooperation, but also the recruitment of Eastern European countries to the European Union, causes an enhancement of conflicts of interest between Russia and European Union. Under the globalization and the regionalization process, Russia creates huge amount of foreign exchange earnings by exporting energy sources. However, in order to achieve the bilateral dialog and mutual recognition, Russia has to achieve domestic market mechanism multiplication to reach the European Union open market standard, as well as domestic politics democratization that conforms to the European Union free democracy definition.
This article uses Neo-functionism to discuss the developmental direction of Russia under the European Union policy. Based on the interaction between Russia and the European Union, this article analyzes how Russia seeks the balance between the national sovereignty localization and regional cooperation while at the same time it faces national interest conflicts during the process of the regional conformity. The article also predicts the short and medium term relationship between Russia and the European Union.
